Quake 3 Arena
Just played some Bad Company 2 with Elpants. The first match was fairly fun, except for the end where the other team was doing non-stop mortar strikes, which were bukkake-ing my framerate. And after that it slowed to a fucking crawl and we both got fucking bored.
I played through Operation Anchorage for the second time.
Jesus, were Bethesda aiming for an award in awful AI coding or something?
From what I hear they were aiming for an award in stupid ideas for DLC. “We have a nice big open world filled with interesting post apocalyptic sights. What could we add to this world? I know! A linear shooting area that is entirely separate from our game world!”
I felt the same with ME1. Jeeze, it’s like shooting the wall and standing in the way is more important than shooting actual targets.
Oh, shooting things that weren’t the enemy was the icing on the cake. At one point, Captain Dickbutt (I decided to rename him with a more appropriate title) was stood staring blankly at me while a Chinese Sniper crouched right behind him. They could not have gotten any closer or they would have been pushing him forward. Not only that, they were shooting him in the head.
And so he stared blankly at me.
Also, Someonerandm, there’s the point about it being a linear shooter in a game where the FPS mechanics are balls.
Super Mario Galaxy 2, Half-Life 2 and some Zelda: Majoras Mask.
Moar Borderlands.
Daily dose of TF2
Just finished some 8 vs. 8 Rush on Arica Harbor. Got 24 kills/21 deaths. Highest score on the server (somewhere around 5000 points). Ranked up, unlocked a new vehicle perk, as well as the PP-2000 SMG.
I fucking love this game.
I don’t like the whole levelling-up gig though. That’s always a bad idea in MP.
EDIT: I played some Fallout 3. For some reason the Outcasts at Fort Independence hate me. At first I thought it was because I had to kill a bunch of them (Operation Anchorage), but I went back to a pre-battle save and just console killed the traitors and they still tried to murderise me.
What the hell, bros?
It’s not really a “leveling up” thing. The rank system is fairly cosmetic. Some weapons and the like are unlocked at certain ranks, yes. But being a certain rank really just is there to be able to say “I’m insert rank here.”
EDIT: And to stay on topic, I’ve been playing Metro 2033. Just got to Polis.
EDIT 2: Just encountered my first Librarian.
Is Metro 2033 worth buying at half price?
If your computer can handle it, I’d say yes. I can run it at Medium with some slowdowns. Usually when I go out on the surface, which isn’t very often.

X-Com. Epic game is epic.
played some Champions Online with my Player Character; H’zu Ral (no, that does not mean anything in any language that I know of, matter of fact it’s supposed to be Andelian for “Crimson Demon”)
H’zu Ral is an alien character I created back in the eleventh grade for a manga series that never made it past concept.
Thief 2, best stealth game ever. MGS need not apply. Just goes to show that you can make a great game with a great story without having cutscenes that last upwards of half an hour.
Recently beat Alan Wake (great game), working on Red Dead Redemption at the moment.
