What Game Did You Play Today?

This is actually one of his reviews that I actually agree with. Sure, tha game gets a few points by having Snake in the game, but the awful camera, the bad framerate, no online voice chat, and all you have to do to win is pick the best character (which isn’t Snake for some fucked up reason) and keep pressing buttons. I was excited when it was first released, but now I see it for the mediocre Nintendo fanboy trash it is.
Or maybe I just suck. :stuck_out_tongue:

I heard Manhunt 2 sucked and was made only for shock value (I mean, sure that’s true with GTA, but at least GTA is fun.)

And RE:UC is a Rail Shooter. Guess what rhymes with Rail Shooter? FAIL Shooter.

The Rail Shooter: Yet another way developers desperately try to make up for Wii limitations.

Also, not to spawn an internet debate or anything, since I never do that, but GTA is more than shock value. It can be used for shock value if you are six and only go on killing sprees (not to say that you can’t go on them at later ages, but its not all you do), but otherwise you will find a compelling story, funny characters, and a good time.

Maybe it’s the fact that I rarely play games, let alone shooters, anymore, but I enjoyed shooting those guys. Story was garbage compared to HL2 and the such, but hell, I liked the level design, and I thought although the missions were similar to the first game they were broken up nicely between fast paced and slow and steady.

Also, I felt like a monster in that airport mission. An absolute monster.

Hammerfight. It’s awesome.

You just suck. Online play wasn’t marketed as the main feature: SSB has always focused on playing with friends, as more of a party game. Since your whole argument was based on online play, it kinda falls down.

Get real friends and you’ll change your mind.

EDIT: there’s also nothing wrong with on the rail shooters. It’s not like they’re marketed as fucking life changing experiences: they’re arcade games for god’s sake.

What I meant was that the only reason people gave a rat’s ass about GTA (at first at least) was the shock value and moral panic. In a way, all this controversy is just free advertising.

I didn’t say GTA didn’t have a great story (they do), funny characters (Tommy Vercetti is awesome), and a fun time (I played every GTA game from III onward and loved all of them!)

To sum up how I became a GTA fan: I came for the controversy so I could feel like a “cool kid”, and I stayed for the great experience the series offered.

Actually, online play was a huge feature for many anticipating the game.
And I played the game with a friend: He kicked my ass.
Yeah, I just suck.

Just because it’s anticipated doesn’t make it a main feature. Plus, what did you expect? It’s on the goddamn Wii, of course the connection’s going to be crap.

And that, the Wii’s lack of technical horsepower, lack of any REAL innovation, and the console’s casual focus, is why Nintendo is losing the audience that made them what they are today.
Sound familiar? Anyone?

Started playing Aquaria. It’s a beautiful game and a lot of fun too. Metroid underwater is a pretty good description of it.

More Resistance PSP.
The story still sucks so far, but the gameplay is still fun!

Oh, and I played Metal Gear 2 (the MSX game. NOT Metal Gear Solid 2.)

Edit: Well, I just got Splinter Cell: Essentials for the PSP.
This game pisses me off so much. It has the potential for pure epicness, but is taken down by shitty graphics, terrible sound design, and worse of all, awful controls.
Sure, it’s possible to like it if you play it more, but you have to try REALLY hard to like it, and then if you play the MGS: Peace Walker demo and realize how awesome that game’s controls are, you have to start all over again.
All just because Sony didn’t add a second thumbstick.

Deadlock: Planetary Conquest. God, this game has aged well…

Final Fantasy IX I finished it today.

You want to know why I call you a fag?

There it is ^.

Killzone 2, Assassin’s Creed 2, TF2 and Audiosurf.

L4D2.

And now time for some more. My steam username is [LUE]Level if you want to play with me.

A bit of TF2. Very fun.

MW2 Spec ops. Motherfucking juggernauts. Im all for tough and challenging enemies, but the stupid sunova bitch ate 2 .50 cal sniper rounds, 3 claymores, a clip and a half of m1a1 ammo and a rifle grenade (in that order) and he still still proceeded to charge onward and shove his MG up my ass and rape me.

Borderlands DLC. Loving it.

Scientist slaughterhouse
For some odd reason, it audioloop crashes at random points whenever I play the main game (doesn’t happen in the “training room” mode)

MW2, Shattered Horizon, and some L4D2 later.

MAG private beta.
