Don’t have a picture here at work, but I still got my 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer GTS:
Decent little family car that isn’t too lame looking. Golf clubs fit in the trunk. My daughter fits in the back, and it gets me to work.

Yeah the Lancer’s quite a good car. Relatively cheap, comfy, packs quite a bunch even for the base model, good looking and insurance fees aren’t too high. Much better than the Impreza for daily-driver.
^ So true. The Impreza looks like a random asian sedan now.
Had the ol’ Lancer for a while now. Only real problem i’ve had is the tire pressure sensor design fault. Not made for Canadian winter.
Tire pressure sensor? Wow. I’m lucky i have ABS.
The tire rims on the car all have a tire pressure sensor. If the pressure is low the dash goes bonkers. If you have winter tires without the sensor, the dash goes bonkers. If you DO have the sensors on your winter tires you have to go to a Mitsubishi dealer to activate them or else the dash goes bonkers. Once summer comes around and you need to change back to summer tires you have to do this again. Each activation is $75. Annoying!
I have a tape player in my car. A TAPE PLAYER.
My Camaro has those too. Though I got my tires changed at a non-Chevy location, and it’s just fine
The sensors are great for using a portable compressor that plugs into the cigarette liter. you just sit in your car listening to music as you watch the pressure in your tire go up, up, up.
Alfa Romeo MiTo - 1.4 Multiair, 135 hp, unleaded
Never took a picture of mine, this is from Google. The color should be black, but the wheels are the same.
The second most fun car I have ever driven (the first one being Mini, I’ll admit that), and a good compromise between speed, handling, load capacity, price and aesthetics. It’s so pleasant to drive.
The only issue is the fuel consumption/distance ratio. Having only a 5-gear shift, it will consume a lot when you keep high speeds for long tracts (like for holiday travelling, hours and hours of highway…). Not so much in the city, though.
Apart from that, I love it.
We should organize a telethon and gift you a decent head unit.
Yes that´s the Fiat “Fire” motor, it´s also in the Bravo and on the late base models Stilo. It´s essentially an extremely overfed little engine but it runs extremely well, my sister has a bravo with the same engine and it´s a pleasure to drive, however it´s kind of stupid it uses more petrol than my abarth stilo (2.4 210hp though that´s after ecu remap and full induction + exhaust system, 170hp stock abarth stilo) but I guess that´s the price to pay for such an engine. I was worries they wouldn´t last long, but her Bravo has 110000km and no problems so far so who knows : )
You know, IMO it’s a sort of “double” engine: its consumption and performance really depends on your the way you are driving at any given moment.
If you are calm and smooth, it will consume as a “real” 1.4, and that’s good for city use, or peaceful touring. But if you want more power, if you want a moment of adrenaline, just hitting the accelerator will take you there in a second (despite being such a “small” engine): the price to pay is, of course, a much higher fuel consumption, but just for that moment.
It can be economic, but it can also give you some true moments of fun, all with same engine under the hood. It’s very versatile.
The only drawback, as I said, is for long-distance travels… only 5 gears means that a 130 km/h you are at 3200 rpm… after a couple of hours you’ll see the fuel tank rapidly draining… why didn’t they put a 6th gear for cruising!? :meh:
As for the reliability, I still have my fingers crossed… this engine (the Multiair) came out in 2009, when I bought it, and has never been tested in mass-production before… and I perfectly knew it, but it was too fun… I’m at 48000 km now, I hope nothing serious happens…
On a side note, would you guys kindly help me with a doubt I had for some years?
Before buying the MiTo, I used to drive this: a 1992 Ford Orion Ghia SI, 1.8, 130 hp, unleaded. It looked exactly like the one in the image.
Since here in Italy was super-rare (in all these years I have seen it no more than 7-8 on the roads), I have always wondered: despite being Ford a common brand, was this specific model, the Orion, “rare” worldwide or just in my country? Have you ever seen it on the streets of your cities?
[BTW, I LOVED that car. ]
The Orion was specific to the European market but was just a re-branded Escort with a bigger trunk to make it a saloon instead of a hatchback.
In the 90’s saloon sales in Europe dropped and the orion was re-branded Escort after 93 thus making the Orion an unusual model to see but not rare.
HAHAHAHAHAHA, thats for babies
heres what i drive/ride:
i combined pedalpower with style please notice that the motor runs on energy drinks
im only 17 btw… i have to be 18 to drive a car and 16 to drive a scooter.
theres a lot of boys who have an eletric scooter, but those are just for lazy fat kids and scooters are kinda… you know… gay. ive seen a lot of fat people riding those scooters and i laugh so hard every time.
heres a picture of one f those scooters: https://www.el-sykkel.no/skin/frontend/default/theme044/images/media/img_center.jpg
designed for GIRLS,NOT BOYS
why do boys ride these?
Well, my brother had a scooter when he was younger, but not electric: fuel-powered, 50cc. I used that too.
Up to the '00s scooters were very popular among teenagers (at least here). It was seen as the first, humble step towards indipendence, and responsibility. Driving a mechanical ride implies more responsibility than using a bike. So, when you parents bought you a scooter, it was a sort of “turning point”, let’s say. In don’t know in other parts of the world, but it was/is a common habit here.
Now it seems they want/their-parents-only-buy-them mini-electric cars… those are awful, in my opinion. But at least are safer…
i have a fuckin 98 ford contour.
well, that scooter is not like the one i posted. this one looks like a nice one for both boys and girls, but the one i posted was made for girls.
oh my GOD hatchbacks are so god awful hideous
