What do you drive?

I don´t actually remember if there was a thread about this before the wipe but figured it´s a decent idea.

So I drive an 07 Abarth Stilo

It also took part in a pinup shoot sometime last year

Yes I do love my car very much, but more importantly what do you guys/gals drive, and let´s see some pickies!

inb4 hatchback hate.

I drive… My feet. I’m such a hipster.

:S I have owned non hatchbacks but I always wanted an abarth since I was a little kid, back then it was a lot harder to get one though

This or pedal power…

A 1970 Dodge Dart Swinger:

3.7l of slant-six fury!

Currently in the market for a beater to drive in the wintertime. Maybe an old Subaru wagon or a Ford pickup or something.

I´ve noticed that several times, is there a reason why people in the us tend to have a winter/summer vehicle as opposed to an all year round one?

I drive a bike. And public transportation.

I drive a VW Lupo…

“It´s not a vintage Cadillac
But it always gets me there and back”

I have never really heard of people here in the US having a summer and a winter car. Where did you hear that?

I would show or tell or show you what I drive, but it would just depress me more than I already am…

Used to drive one of those:

Now on foot since british tax legislation and gas prices are a dick. Fuck hatchbacks. I’ll buy a car when I can afford to drive a decent one.

V

on a different matter…

Gas prices I get but what does legislation have to do?

Taxes on gas guzzlers/big cars and insurance afaik, plus the car is left-hand drive. Plus moving countries itself is a bitch.
Maybe will transit it later if can be arsed, but unlikely. It probs will be 15 years old by the time it will be financially viable for me (circa 2017). Plus it will definitely have a few more thousand miles on its ass seeing how it’s being driven by my mom now. Then my baby brother is going to hit 18 in 4 years.

Tip top condition (previous owner took good care), but old car is old.
p.S. Insurance in UK is about 20 times as expensive as what I had to pay back where I am. It was more like a tax than actual insurance, but still.

OP, I’m liking the Stilo, I’d never seen one before but it’s got a nice shape. Reminds me a bit of my ride

Oh by the way, hatchback love

As I side note, may buy a Caterham for shits and giggles.

Not sure I´d let an 18 year old drive a powerfull car though, bound to have an accident

The normal stilo is somewhat different (made by fiat) the abarth one keeps most of the shape, the inside, mechanics and engine are different though, so pretty much just the same chasis and most of it´s exterior design, but all said, the conventional stilo is definately a looker considering it´s price : ) shame it´s been replaced by that bubble they call the bravo.

Classie civic : )

Great fun little cars, driven a few of their supersport racing series cars when I used to work on them in my previous job.

The power to weight ration is insane, and rear wheel drive makes it great fun to take on to a circuit.

Mercedes 8-pots are rather civil for its kind, but touche. Had to get used to it - drove a E430 before (8 pots as well) - had all sorts of trouble during the first week trying to gather way from a standstill. It hurled my face forwards every time I (even slightly) overdid it on the gas pedal - quite an experience.

Quite endearing little buggers aren’t they. And judging by what people say - great stuff to drive every day, even during winter.
Seen quite a lot of them around Leeds.

To be fair, I have only driven their race cars, and one road version, the R400, but all of them were great fun, whether it’s just from A to B to going hell for leather around a track.

The R400 actually had more grunt under the bonnet than the race spec versions, but was let down in other areas such as the suspension and diff.

Just if you want one for winter, get one with a windscreen!
