If let go off Homework, Discovery and Human After All - this is actually a solid fucking soundtrack (and also innovative as fuck). I hope the movie is good too.
Also, core themes (The Game has Changed, Overture/ Grid/ Flynn Lives/ End Titles / Encom part II, Derezzed, Rinzler, End of The Line) are easily Daft Punk’ish. I was like meh too inititally, but Human After All was considered atrocious too.
Main Theme (Overture) - while initially being an orchestral piece, actually does sound like an authored track and does have a special feeling to it. Apart from actually being fucking awesome. And the way it is being executed at various points of the CD is fucking genius.
But I agree with Imonfire on chellos. Jesus fuck, why are they using the same fucking chords in every fucking movie? And I was never a huge fan of strings, with keyboards being my favorite. But then, at least DP tried to get some variation, like in, among others, C.L.U.'s theme (which is actually fucking awesome).

P.S. I bet Derezzed will be the one played in the club.
P.S.S. I actually have to agree with IGN on something, finally:

The surprise is not that they pull off an excellent score for the film, but rather how understated the expected electronic elements are. It is not until the midway point of the score that a dance beat finally makes an appearance, on the thick, hazy synth of “End Of The Line”. Until that point, and for the majority of the score following it, Daft Punk take a decidedly ‘less is more’ approach with their typically glitzy electronic arrangements, choosing to become members of the orchestra rather than overshadow it. The clanging house rhythm and twirling, washed-out synth of “Derezzed” are probably more along the lines of what most will expect here, but it is the distorted hammering beat and fuzzy vibe enhancing the strings on “The Game Has Changed” that show off their work here best. While not the neon-clodhopper you might expect, Daft Punk does an excellent job crafting a triumphant yet measured score that captures the spirit of the Tron world exceptionally well.
