So, a monitor made out of those sliding pins?
Is there a link somewhere on the forums page that brings you back to the main website? There used to be a bar at the top that I think had all the stuff needed to maneuver everywhere on the site, not just the forums. Something similar to what we have on the main website…

It looks like I missunderstood what I was looking at. For some reason, the conversations area was showing several old messages that were flagged as ‘unread’. So this suggestion at least is not valid.
The moderating piece needs serious work tho still.
I found a bug
When a thread is perma-deleted all posts disappear from the recent posts section for that subforum until a new post is made.
Curious, and I haven’t searched this entire thread yet, but what are the points you accrue? Like how it says posts, likes recieved, and points.
Just curious, what are the plans for limiting spam, because I’m being offered a LOT of love advice.
Not sure if you guys want to take it THIS far, but I’m part of another forum with a screening process where you have to write a short essay to get in. Pretty effective, but I’m sure it’s more work to maintain.
Just a thought.
EDIT: Never mind.
EDIT EDIT:
Actually, I can make this post into something useful.
I get duplicate notifications when somebody replies to a thread I’m following by quoting one of my posts in it. The two notifications I get are: “[Blargh] replied to [Thread]” and “[Blargh] replied to your post in [Thread].” Personally, I would like to have the notification about quoting and lose the one about the general reply. It conveys all the information of the general reply notification, plus more.
Selecting the IGNORE button has no effect on what posts are appearing. With all the spam, I select IGNORE on the member yet the posts still appear.
who you tryna ignore bitch
I am happy to announce that a new version of the forums was just deployed. This release contains bug fixes and design changes in certain areas. Here is a list of some of the more thoughtful changes:
- Re-introduced “Unread Posts”.
- Installed new spam protection system to fight stupid, pesky bots.
- Moved location of “Reply” button on the bottom of the forums to reflect previous forum version.
- Introduction of a new WYSIWYG editor.
- Included avatar bit in quoted text.
- Re-designed drop-down hover tips.
- Removed obnoxious green “Online” badge from user sidebar post bit.
- Deleted threads actually delete and don’t leave trail behind for registered users.
Also, how many of you by a show of hands, utilize the dashboard currently?
Are we finding signatures obnoxious and take away from the overall design and experence?
All of my <3 , Hubi.
This editor is sleek as hell.
The update’s great.
As for signatures, I see no reason to get rid of them when you can set them to invisible anyway if you don’t like them. I personally don’t use the dashboard (don’t know about anyone else), since I don’t see a reason not to use the normal forum view to begin with.
SNOOPDANCE!
I use the dashboard and do like to see sigs.
Pro tip: You can tag people and get their attention in your posts by doing @username. Don’t remember the full username or too lazy to spell it out? if you attempt a search tip will appear with closest results. I will use you as an example @CatzEyes93
I’d like to request the notification icon in the favicon be changed to orange. Red sends bad messages.
Also, ditto on CPU’s opinion.
Search seems to be broken. Only posts posted after yesterday’s update is searchable.
Thank you for reporting that! Will go ahead and rebuild the search index now. Expect full results in the next few moments.
Definitely some massive improvements! Thanks so much,
this new dynamic favicon is pretty annoying actually, it always changes to a red number on my browser’s bookmarks bar when I stop browsing the forums. attracts my attention to the BM bookmark for no reason (since I just checked for new posts obviously)
