Weapon Textures Not Appearing

A screenshot of what? If you watch the video as I instructed in the original first post you can see in real time my anguish.

Ah whoops, looks to me like the model isn’t displaying properly rather than the textures.

Try setting “mat_wireframe 1” in console and tell me if you see a wireframe mesh of the weapon models.

If not Try setting “r_drawviewmodel 1” in console.

Also if you can add “-condebug” to the launch options of black mesa (right click > properties > set launch options) while you’re playing, then once you have closed black mesa a file will be created in the BMS directory called console.log which can be opened with notepad/notepad++. If you could upload that somewhere that would be handy, thanks.

I cannot enter the console, no matter what keyboard key I set the console to, absolutely nothing happens when I press it.

go to keyboard config, click ‘‘advanced’’ and then ''enable developer’s console"

Thanks Problematic!

Corporal, neither of the two console command did anything to the game. Below is the console.log that was generated after attempting the console commands.

Hrm, nothing there that relates to the weapon models or textures.

I think those two console commands I listed are counted as ‘cheats’ so you will need to use “sv_cheats 1” then try them again if possible.

Ok the wireframe command worked after using the cheats command, I see a wire mesh of everything but the weapon models. See below. Also is an copy of the new console log.

Did you try the console command "r_drawviewmodel 1"?

If nothing happens with that try “give weapon_crowbar” please.

“r_drawviewmodel 1” did nothing, so I tried “give weapon_crowbar”, and that did nothing. But in the games defense I already had the crowbar lol.

Have you tried re-downloading the mod?

He has. Have you tried starting a new game all together and seeing if it still does it then?

All is fixed, started a new campaign and everything works, how sad I should have done this a long time ago.

Glad to hear. I’m still not sure exactly what was causing the issue in the first place, do you still have the save files from that playthrough? If so could you upload them somewhere for me?

Let me know what you discover if you can, I’m curious myself. If you plan on playing with my broken save file I would recommend using the most recent save because I think it’s the only one where I have unlocked weapons, but I can’t remember.

Also can you let me know when you have downloaded it because I’ll delete the file from my server after your confirmation. Thanks.

Got them, thanks.

that’s good to know

I think having to start a new game is an unacceptable solution. Now I, myself, must redo a whole chapter, kinda lame. Makes me wonder what the problem is and if there is a better way to fix it, no telling if it happens again later on in the game at this point.

I hope this isn’t considered feeding a ghost thread -> So here I go:

  • Crowbar was invisible after I picked it up.
  • So I randomly started a new chapter. All weapons were ok.
  • Quickloaded. Crowbar is still invisible after I pick it up, plus Mr. Purple is back in this corridor.
