We got Black Mesa on Steam!

I have one friend who I’ve introduced to this that played HL2, but didn’t want to play the original HL because of how old it is. I guided him through the SDK installation process. I made sure to tell him that it is not the complete game without mentioning anything about Xen because even the name Xen is a spoiler of sorts. I can’t wait to hear his experience of the game.

The delay of xen can be explained by a time displacement when you enter the portal, like when you arrive at Kleiners lab a few weeks later. Only this time its a many months :frowning:

Personally, Xen is way further then I ever got in the original game before other games distracted me. So I don’t really mind that it’ll be missing Xen. It’ll still be cool when it’s added, though.

Also, I love how the counter’s (blackmesasource.com) picture has changed. It’s a neat effect.

I had given up hope on this mod for months now. Glad you guys are finally releasing it. Thank you, for all the time and effort.

Quick question:

What are the chances you can use the Steam download, then Unlock feature… IE: we can start the download now… then when the release hits we can unlock it and play it? My bandwidth here is pretty slow… could take me the whole weekend to download 3gbs of data…

Thanks again!

No chance of both pre-load or seeing the mod on Steam tomorrow.

Here’s a Dev quote:

EDIT: Oh, the thread was moved.

I think I’ll take Steam tomorrow. But that’s just me.

Do thus. Tell us if BM is on there by next week.

Hey…

Cannot wait for BM to release! I’ll be downloading through steam seeing as I won’t have my PC working anyway when it’s released so I figure that I’ll just wait until the Steam release!

Gonna FRAPS myself playan and upload to youtube!

Is greensteam the same as steam or do we have to install a seperate green version of steam?
In other words can i just start steam tomorrow, search for “HL1 Remake” and start dloading?

Instructions here.
links to the downloads should be put up on the front page (https://www.blackmesasource.com/) in about 27 hours time.

@ wow:
You can look on Steam tomorrow afternoon 4:47 (our time) but it’ll most likely not be there yet, and no it’s no special version of steam.

You’ll have to come to https://www.blackmesasource.com and when counter hits zero it’ll take you automatically to https://release.blackmesasource.com where the download info will be.
That page is painfully white at the moment lol, zero lines of code

BM will not be on steam tomorrow, and there is no such thing as “Greensteam”

You have to download BM from the official site.
