Watch Dogs

They must’ve fucked up somehow. The new gameplay trailer looks barely better than GTA5 in most aspects. In fact, I think GTA5 edges it out in some stuff.

That has got to be last-gen stuff.

2012 reveal trailer always looked like bullshit to me, but 2013 gameplay video looked totally plausible for an early next-gen game.

I don’t know what the fuck happened but at least the PS4 is perfectly capable of 2013-trailer level of graphics.

My friend said “It’s like they made it on the GTA 5 engine first and then had to move away from it”

That doesn’t make any sense.

If anything it got closer to GTA5 engine after they made it look next-gen first.

To me it looks like the previous trailers simply had better mpeg compression so it might be all youtube’s fault in the end :stuck_out_tongue:

Also the previous trailers look like they have some physX stuff going on with the cloth physics and whatnot that seems to be missing in this trailer

Compression doesn’t disable road reflections or reduce shadow resolution.

Sometimes it distorts them so badly that you no longer believe they are there.

I call that denial, instead.

This year’s gameplay can almost be considered as a preview of GTA5 running at 1080p.

I just hope it’s still as awesome as when the hype all started. And it’s not another HL2 situation where none of the e3 footage actually made it in-game.

The Combine AI was scripted anyways…

Ubisoft: “Oh, look at what great reviews GTAV gets and how much it has sold, let’s make Watch Dogs a copy of it to get a slice of the cake”

god fucking damnit ubisoft

major game companies are so corrupt these days, they wont even tell us to our faces when they fuck up

Guys, how about we wait for more information before we start arguing? If you have to argue about whether the errors are legit or video compression artifacts, it’s probably too soon to tell.

We waited on Ubisoft to say something and they denied it despite there obviously being an issue. I am waiting for release to say anything but it very clearly looks like the game has been downgraded multiple times since the original trailer. Of course I don’t think we’ve seen the PC version since the initial trailer but Ubisoft pretty much said the only difference would be in resolution.

That’s naive of you imo, I don’t think video compression can remove graphical effects, it can only result in loss of detail due to lower resolution and such.
But it can clearly be seen what is and isn’t there missing.

I guess we’ll just have to wait and see if they get added back in/are shipped with/can be easily enabled on the PC version. Not that long left to wait IMO.

I’m still buying it day one. It still looks like fun, even if the graphics are GTA III bad.

On the other hand, this makes it more likely to run at a decent framerate on my 4 year old gaming laptop.

Here is the new minimum specs for Watch Dogs:

So, slightly higher minimum specs than the ones posted ages ago earlier in this thread.

(slightly more powerful CPU, 6GB RAM vs 4GB )

Yeah, pretty much unfortunately.
