Visual bugs

Hello! first of all I’m not sure if there’s a thread already where I should post this, so if there is please move this to that thread.
Secondly I’m sorry for not getting the getpos for these bugs, but they are all in questionable ethics I think after the helicopter part.

Some weird lines in a pipe, they disappear when you get closer to them.

A broken ladder that you can clip through

And you can see the full HECU grunts model through the net

These are not major in any way, shape and/or form. Of course crash fixes and performance related issues have higher priority, but I figured I’d report these ones anyways. I’ll report any more issues I come across with a getpos from now on.

Another visual glitch in Questionable Ethics - the consoles are missing…

They are not missing in any way for me, did you try reinstalling and updating your graphics drivers?

Try restarting up the game and make sure you have no “-dxlevel XX” switch at the BMS command line parameters. Also make sure you play in DirectX 9.x mode and have no “mat_picmip”/“mat_dxlevel” refferences in autoexec.cfg. The game could misbehave like shown on your screenshots when you change some gfx settings “on the fly”, without quitting and restarting the game process right after the change. Yes, it seems to be a bug in BMS, but similar bugs with disappearing entities and crashes after gfx settings change affect HL2 and all other source-based games.

Thanks for the tips.

I’ve not touched autoexec.cfg at all, so it’s not that.

I’m not using any command line options.

I’m using the latest Nvidia drivers , 306.23 on a GTX 460 768Mb, Win7 x64.

Glitch does not clear after a restart of BM, or a reboot of the PC.

Oh, and a clean install made no difference either. :meh:

The controls on the missing consoles still worked, I could fire the laser - so it’s not a game breaker for me. It’s the only glitch I’ve come across so far, everything else is working fine.

You’re welcome. Well, it’s a strange one but as you haven’t got any other similar problems elsewhere let’s assume that this is an “unfortunate random glitch” and hope that you’re the only person who got this one :-). In any case we can’t debug it right now as there’s no way to reproduce it and there are no other persons sharing the same problem so we can’t analyze what things are in common.
