JohnWorfin, I’m sorry to break it to you, but you really are the stereotypical Mac elitist. I had to work on a Mac for a summer, and it was really fucking bad. Apple milks its customers way more than ‘microshaft’. I had more than enough time to get used to working on the mac, and I did, but still thought the experience was much like scraping your eye with a dick.
Switching between windows is a pain. Most programs open multiple seemingly separate windows, and when you bring up the gird of open ‘things’, it’s a mess. It’s modularity in excess.
Speaking of modularity, the mac hardware lacks it. The hardware isn’t special, (the only extraordinary thing about it was the monitor), but it’s overpriced. Sure, there are advantages to building your system around parts that you KNOW will be there (like a specific graphics card), but the same parts can be used with a PC, and you don’t get fucked over.
The version of OSX we had installed was fairly resent, but our shit got delayed cause to use XCode, Apple makes you BUY what is the Mac equivalent of a Service Pack (Snow Leopard). Yeah, I guess if I worked with it for years I might have gotten used to it, but it is definitely more stressful, and in my opinion, more shitty.
If I wanted unix, I’d install it on my PC. I didn’t hate Macs, I’m not an ‘apologist’ or an elitist, I have a fairly open mind. However, it’s true that a lot of Mac users are self-righteous douche bags. At least you looked up reasons to like a Mac, some just baselessly point and laugh at PC users.
Also, Christian masses? What the fuck? I’m glad you throw everyone that you consider to be ignorant and sheepish into one big pile, which you consider it ok to shit upon when you feel like getting an ego boost. Good luck with that.
Perhaps we could take this e-peen “no u” fest to the Massdebating Hall? Perhaps under a thread entitled “Macs vs PCs vs…?” or something? Just a suggestion (not an attempt to mini-mod).

This was a thread about malware lurking on these forums. Yes i, said luckily i use a mac, because it was. the horror stories I read about people trying remove this file from their windows systems made me sad for them. this was not meant to be a linux/mac/windows/beos/os2 is better thread, it was only a website issue. there was already a thread about for debating this crap… I can’t help it if people’s os insecurities make them derail support threads. Worfin: You mean, you read horror stories about people that don’t understand how to use their computers? I’ve been on Windows for almost 20 years now and have not had any of these kinds of problems. Why? BECAUSE I KNOW HOW TO USE A COMPUTER.

To those who run OSX, weather on an actual mac or any run of the mill “PC”, not having a giant malware target can be nice.
I if had said something to the tune of, “Luckily I’m not a knuckle dragging windows user that can’t see past my over sized brow ridge enough to realize that Bill Gate’s nipple hair is getting stuck between my wide Neanderthal like teeth.” That would be elitist. But I have said no such thing. remember, I still run windows on my mac to play most of my wonderful computer games.
