VGAs Tonight

Can’t win if you’re not nominated :bulb: .

OH GOD TES V YES YES YES YES

Also, if it and ME3 make their 2011 release dates that is going to become the greatest year in gaming history most likely, at least for me. I’m not exaggerating.

I don’t hate it (in fact, when the version used in Oblivion launched it was one of the best looking games around) but it certainly hasn’t aged as well as some of the others. New Vegas looks good enough to get the job done, but I feel like it could be much better. Hopefully the current build of Gamebryo is as good as Bethesda is hyping it to be, i.e. “next gen-looking.”

You do realize that there was no speculation about Ep3 right? They even announced that there will be only a new Portal 2 trailer. You are responsible for your own hopes, it’s your fault that you believed that something Half Life related could come, not Newells fault. Acting as a kid is stupid.

@Portal 2 trailer: Well, im not disappointed, I like it, but nothing special. Valve already showed enough of Portal 2, no need for more stuff, in my opinion.

I already know Forza 4 will be a more polished and consistently good game than GT5. And it’s not released for another year :stuck_out_tongue:

Also, DAMN I need to get around to playing ME2 before 3 comes out <.>

I can’t get enough of those two robots, they remind so much of Laurel & Hardy, Jake & Elwood or even Cheech & Chong…
Best character pairing in gaming history since Mario & Luigi!

There’s just something about the way the engine handles the physics of the first person character that annoys me and hasn’t been changed since Oblivion. Also collision detection for world geometry, and this may be the level designers’ fault, but many times I was hiding behind cover and trying to shoot just a few inches away from it and I was still hitting the bounding box for the cover object.

As long as they fix those little things and update the visuals to look like a game of the current generation of games, I won’t mind too much that they’re still using the same engine.

It’s more the assets that suck rather than the engine.

Sadly, Reach is gonna find a way to sweep the floor. Including best indie somehow.

It can’t seem to handle story events very well. It always turns into: Character one run to set point, deliver dramatic dialogue, character two delivers reactionary line, walks to set point near player, zoom on face, go through convo, zoom out, continue as normal. It just doesn’t work for me.

I’m also hearing that they’re using IDtech 5?

I’m confused.

It says they’re using a new engine but I’m pretty sure it’s not idTech 5. They bought id software after they started working on the game.

We’ll see what it is soon I suspect.

Quake II

No, they’ll do better than that. Probably Goldsource.

I’m calling bullshit. I’d bet my left nut that by “all new” they actually mean “all new overhaul of Gamebryo.” But we shall see.

EDIT: or maybe not. Now RPS is reporting that they clarified that it is a completely new, in-house engine. Makes me wonder why Todd Howard strongly implied it was built on Gamebryo, but oh well. It’s excellent news.
