ValveTime BlackMesa Gameplay footage

I think it’s wrong that the footage was leaked, but I was still damn amazed.

Same.

It almost doesn’t look like source. It’s amazing what you can do with good art direction and asset quality.

Cannot wait for the next, albeit, ‘official’, release.

Looks like this has spread further than we expected

EDIT: Shit, it’s popping up all around.

This was worth re-registering with the BMS forums! Fine footage indeed, deliberately released or not. I can’t wait to play. You guys rock!

Oh God. Machinima? Crap. Machinima is the airport for anything viral on the internet. If you search Black Mesa Source on YouTube, I think we all know what the first result is and who posted it.

  1. The cylinder rotates BEFORE firing, not after.
  2. ALL revolver model are adjust to have their cylinder rotate clockwise, not counter-clockwise.

Hmmmmm.

I know we’ve said that it will be difficult to control the spread of the video from here, and I’m not going to rage anymore at people uploading it to various filesharing sites or extra YouTube accounts, but something about sending a copyright takedown notice to Machinima.com strikes me as very appealing. But that’s just my own biased viewpoint.

I like your style, Katana.

srsly, do it! and then after they put it down, release the soundtrack  That’d be epic.

At first I was saying you should it – but…

Edit: They seem to be saying quite nice things on Machinima – if you were going to upload it anyways, you may want to consider not taking action, but it’s up to you guys, obviously.

They may actually bring positive attention on Black Mesa, what with all the nice things they’re saying in the video about the game and the team’s dedication. Coverage from Machinima might actually be a good thing. It’s not actually their fault, and I doubt they knew ValveTime would upload something in such a manner. So I don’t think striking at them is particularly necessary thing to do. I mean, if every fucking retard’s YouTube account is going to have the video in HD, then you might aswell get some real coverage out of the situation.

I don’t think placing Copyright notices on videos will accomplish much of anything besides annoying people. It’s out, nothing left to do but roll with the punches.

Oh god

lol wtf

That’s a dick move, but I laughed at the music.

That’s horrible. But it’s kind of hard not to laugh at that. That’s how all the haters see the game.

haha, “It gets bigger when I pull on it” “mmmmMMMmmmm”

I don’t think it was meant to be malicious, because in the tags it says “Seriously though, I’m still excited for this.”
I like the way the uploader simulated the out-of-place feeling that the music initially had (before it fucking grew on everyone) by adding ridiculous music to it, haha.

OH YES.

But as other people have said, it appears that they arn’t saying much negative stuff. Considering how popular Machinima is/was it might be a bad idea to do that.

Oh lawdy, the parodies have begun! I have to admit, it certainly had more of a point than doing that for the sake of doing that. (Not that I mind at all, I’m just glad it wasn’t a random-ass video.)

Laughed and raged at same time. Kinda hurt.

Once again, this guy has nothing to do with ValveTime.

Parodies make games more popular, honestly – just look at TF2. The game had so much love all over the world that they got more money by making it free.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
