Uplink Remake

We have to organize a translation team too…

I think best way to translate uplink is to use as a refence the current Black Mesa translations.

In this way Uplink translated subs won’t stand out.

Please, tell me this is the same Blue Shift remake already posted in here on BM forums… O_O

I hope so. If not, they should team up.

unfortunately its not.i agree they should team up because there are already 2 projects doing the same.

Updated sceenshots from recent art passes:

Also, I’m now making this MOD for a charity fundraiser. If you want to help out, check the first post in this thread.

Keep up the good work! I’m looking forward to playing it…

News update here!

I’m also looking for translators! If you are interested, send me a PM!

Hi Hezus!

We were discussing with the Hazard course modder about the impl of your mods:

I said this:

What do you think?

By the way, I’ve sent you a pm on moddb for the italian translation.

Bye

Yeah, the editing of BM files is a tricky problem when there are more projects out there. That’s why I’m releasing 2 versions. One is the installer with all files and the 2nd is the zip version without the edited files. Ofcourse you’ll lack subtitles, menu items, credits and messages and you’ll have to manually load the map, but at least it won’t interfere with any other settings.

But that’s only if you’re a really picky person or afraid you might overwrite something you made. The way I’ve set it up doesn’t interfere with the original BM chapters.

There must be a button in Black Mesa tab which says Play Uplink then Uplink will run.

New news!

New screenshots!

Hezus, you’re fucking awsome!

Can’t wait for the 18th, ha ha!

Aw, I wish I got in…

The work here is very impressive. What are you closed beta testing? Just the opening chapter or the first three chapters?

-Edit: nevermind just watched Uplink playthrough. It’s one chapter.

If you need another pair of critical eyes for the closed beta, I’m down. I’ve been helping TEXT w/his chapters but his project is winding down soon.

Here’s a great playthrough for those who are testing as a reference:

Also, if I’m not on the closed beta, one suggestion I will make is that you use the exact same ending sequence as HL2:The Lost Coast where the screen blurs and fades to black.

Is there also the burning vortigaunt?

I think this where Uplink came in Half-Life before it was cut.

Uplink happened when the portal to Xen can’t be contained and it burst so you’re teleported somewhere else in Black Mesa. You have to return to Lambda Complex again to proceed to Xen. It was cut because there is a gargantua blocking the way. Does it make sense?

He’s said multiple times: It’s non canon to the Black Mesa story, it’s just a random thing that didn’t happen

Stop trying to justify it, it was never made to fit in the storylin

It was released as a Demo about a year after Half-Life was released

It was actually only about 3 to 4 months. Half-Life was released in November 1998.

Beta testing is well-underway. Sqaushed most bugs by now I hope. I’m currently working on the optimisations.
