Uplink Remake

Well, You made your point!
About this map c2a5b and with the whole ST is debatable for 2 reasons:

1- the guy who made ST left the team before the maps of this chapter were completed:
Look at the Garg chase, you can easily guess that is not a finished work(weightless cars,Garg AI bugs and issue with pathfinding).

2-If you decompile it you’ll notice that exists a tentacle entity.
has the tentacle been scrapped during the development by that mapper or the other Devs decided a feature freeze in order to release BM asap?
We might never know.

Anyway, I respect your point.

I volunteer in advance for the position of Beta tester.

Currently, your work is pretty brilliant. Do you plan on adding some new parts in between the current ones to expand it or is it a straight up adaptation?

Thanks! Some areas were expanded a bit but will still resemble the original design, as you can see from the screenshots. Sometimes I change some smaller things to adjust the gameplay to the new layouts. But my mission is to capture the spirit of the old Uplink into this remake.

You have, I can see you’ve captured the general layout very well!

TextFamGuy1 has had some issues with the Gargantua because of the very limited AI and the lack of animations, how is that going to factor in with your work?

We don’t know what the dev team is gonna change to the mod

I’m forcing the Gargantua to go through scipted events so the AI doesn’t interfere. So far it works well, since the player is not directly involved and it just an observer.

Good, but would the scripted events require brand new animations? You might wanna find someone to help you with that

probably just running and swinging and general havoc, plenty of animations for that

It has a couple of useful animations. I actually designed the area around the garg’s animations, so I was sure they would work and look good.

For those interested: I’m currently working on the choreographed scenes using Faceposer. That’s a new job for me so there is still some stuff I need to figure out, but it’s coming along quite well. Faceposer is one of the most buggy pieces of software I’ve ever seen, though.

Great work! CAN’T WAIT for the release.

Can’t wait to touch this piece of software

The project is now on moddb too:

I gotta try this land of legends!

Hezus, you’re the first one that have posted a mod of a mod on moddb!
Cheers!

This is going to be great

How about a suggestion? The remakes of GoldSource games had their name changed. Can this be :bms: Black Mesa: Lambda :lambda: Transmission.

Actually, Land of Legends is a MOD for a MOD as well, since it uses SvenCo-op as code-base  Other than that it’s a complete conversion.

It’s already called Black Mesa: Uplink instead of Half-Life: Uplink Source or something so that’s enough of a name change. I really want to keep the connection to Black Mesa to be clear, since it features their content.

The name I given also connects to Black Mesa and the transmission meaning the satellite that was turned to go through the (Lambda Complex?). Anyway, I accept your decision. What I gave is a suggestion only anyway.

Why were the screenshots removed, or did I miss something?

I went to your Moddb page but there are only 2 screenshots available. Is it a case where the areas depicted in your previous screenshots have dramatically changed since they were first posted? Why not make them available on both sites so people can appreciate your work and follow your progress, not to mention the added exposure?

The first load of screenshots were early WIP. Everything I’m posting now will feature a few art passes towards final quality. I’m just making sure people will not judge the quality of the MOD on early screenshots. From my experience people will just scroll through this thread without reading or checking the dates on the screenshots posted.

The other reason why I’m starting over on MODDB, is because these forums hardly give me any formatting options for adjusting screenshots, adding video or adding HTML.

As I surmised, 'nuff said. Keep up the great work!!! We’re all pulling for ya.

Don’t be afraid of critizism, we all want to testplay it so u can squash the final bugs and maybe alter things

Like with did with ST

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
