Just had a nice long meeting with my Unit Coordinator for college.
Turns out I’ve failed pretty much the whole 2nd year of the course.
Got a few choices.
-
Redo 3 assignments and get a Diploma of Audio Production
-
Redo 2 or 3 Trimesters and get a Bachelor of Audio Production
-
Defer and do option 1 or 2 in a year or so.
Note option 2 costs around $12K
And I’m already 5K in the red.
Isn’t procrastination always the way to go?
Oh wait that probably got you into that mess in the first place…

Do you cover travel costs?
Aren’t enrolled in something that you enjoy? Also, hi 5 for failing units, I’ve failed 5 so far in my two years of uni. Possibly more by the end of this semester.
I’d say go with option 2. Even if it does cost a silly amount of money of money, at least you’ll be coming out with a decent award.
I’m almost at the end of my three-year stay here in Hull University and I’m going to be finishing up in at least £12,000 in debt thanks to the various loans and whatnot (£3000 tuition fee loan…Maintenance loan etc). But I only have to start paying this back when I have a job earning over a certain amount a year. Do you have a system like that? I don’t really understand how your fees work.
Anyway, I’m digressing. Go with whatever is the most ‘enriching’ course - it’ll make getting a job a little easier. In theory >_>

To add to what Suggestive said, I would advise you to consider looking for an industrial placement for the summer or even for a year. I went on an 18-month placement as part of my uni course (should have been 6, but I took a year out to make it 18) and it was an excellent experience - far better than uni itself.
If you’re not already looking around for a placement, I’d say you should at least think about it. You’d be able to get an idea of what kind of work you want to do after graduating, build up some contacts for job searching, and maybe even make a dent into that debt (for reference, I ended my placement about £6000 better off than when I started - but then again, I’m a typical Scot, i.e. careful with my money).
Only problem is, I’m not sure what the opportunities will be like in your field and in America (I’m a computing student in the UK so it’s maybe a different situation for me). There should hopefully be something out there - maybe have a word with your college’s careers office?

BTW guys, I set a new record yesterday, over 100 hours of games played on steam in 2 weeks, 64 goes to Fallout 3. Previous record was like 86 hours or something.
I’m up for that. Tbh, I need a proper holiday.
I am, but I have to do marketing, promotion and Film work, all 3 I hate but have to do to get the Bachelor.
That would apply to something like a Law degree or something in medicine, but this is art almost, and mainly people get hired by their portfolio.
What I think I’m going to do is just get a job, take the Diploma for now just save some cash I think.
15 Years of straight study can take its toll, thats right, I haven’t stopped schooling since grade 1 and haven’t taken a break longer then the Christmas holidays.
Haha, I hear you with that one. I was thinking of going straight into a PGCE qualification or GTTP place (both are ways of getting into teaching), but now I’m pretty much aching to get out and have some “proper” life experience - if that makes any sense.

Can anyone help me I am trying to find the name of a movie.
The movie was about some kind of big house building in a city, strange stuff happend there what soon turned out to be an infection that a dog had gotten and now passed onto people in that building.
The city soon quarantined that building and the people inside couldn’t get out.
I think those infected became zombies or something… The movie ended with the epic scene where there are no lights and they look thru some kind of nightvision thingy in the house/building.
It was a scary movie, had a little girl, dog, some people in it.
Most of the movie took place on the bottom floor nobody wanted to go up the stairs.
Please someone help me.
