ZULU!!!

lol

Oh I have watched It.

Oh rly

So, did steam chat just break horribly for anyone else?

Yup. Well for me it’s pretty much all community features.

Edit: Ooh it’s back.

fixd

What movie is that from?

It.

THAT’s the name of the movie?

Is it even worth watching? I’m intrigued by the scary-ass clown, but I don’t do too well in sooper skary movies.

Dunno, but the book was pretty good. Stephen King horror novel.

Indeed. The book is superior to the movie. As usual.

Only actually good stephen king book-to-movie I’ve ever seen, actually, was The Mist. The rest of them are pretty crappy. Even the Shining. Yes.

No, but I’ve seen them around.

If you don’t have any you’re not a REAL, real fan =P

You have disrespected the Kubrick, you will pay :fffuuu:

1408 was neigh bad. If only because of Samuel L.*

The Mist was pretty good, but as for The Shining:

^^These. The only reason I might allow you to live is because you might have seen the butchered re-edit done for TV rather than Kubrick’s brilliant full-length theatrical cut.

It was okay. I haven’t read the short story.

I remember that It was a mini-series, not a movie. I could be wrong.

The Shining is only bad if you think of it as a direct port of a Stephen King story into movie form. It isn’t that, it is more “based on” the King novel. It is still a great movie though, for all of its differences from the book.

Stephen King actually hated the Stanley Kubrick version of ‘The Shining’ so much that he teamed up to make another version which came out as a tv miniseries. That version of ‘The Shining’ was indeed as bad as it gets.

Alan Moore disowns the screen adaptions of his comics, but they’re brilliant pieces of cinema anyway. Same thing.
.

King needs to stick to novels. Any time he gets involved in adaptations of his work they end up horrible (The Stand mini-series, Kingdom Hospital, The Shining mini-series), and any time they’re done without much involvement from him they frequently turn out great (The Shawshank Redemption, The Mist, The Shining).

Hmmm. Watchmen was very good, V for Vendetta was okay but not a patch on the book, and though I’ve not seen them I understand League of Extraordinary Gentlemen and From Hell to be atrociously bad. Given the greatness of the source material I think better could be expected.
