Unofficial Official Chat Thread

I gotta stop acting srs around here.

Fuck for some strange reasons, Vista says BOOTMGR is missing. So I tried to boot in with my Windows 7 DVD and install it directly. Unfortunately, for some strange and obscure reason it’s blank. So I’ll not be able to test my new rig until tomorrow D= (because I have to re-download Win7).

I am interested in where this is going with the ban threats they have recived.
I think I am gonna sit back in the chat thread and watch the hellfire and mushroom clouds fill the sky. anyone care to join me?

In other news, I haven’t received any ban threats…

yay me!

Fixed the demo problem. Just unmarked the folder as read-only.

WTF?! you’d think valve would disallow that feature.

Yeah that usually fixes it. That’s often the reason why people have to delete files to fix a problem.

People don’t realize it’s not just a problem in unix based systems.

I don’t know why,but whenever anyone says unix, I think of Jurassic Park.

That’s because they use unix computers in that movie.

I think of unix whenever someone mentions Jurassic Park.

Speaking of unix, I finally realized that it would be faster if I burned Windows 7 on a DVD using an old Kubuntu 7.10 Live CD than re-downloading it from an othrt computer and then burning and installing it.

“It’s a UNIX system!”
that sounds meme-able

I leave for Vegas in the morning. I’ll see everyone when I get back Monday night or Tuesday morning.

Crap, I’m going to be without porn for all that time! :o

Hmm it seems Windows 7 does not detect my second HDD. My bios shows it, and it appears in the device manager, but not in “My Computer”.

edit: and it’s a kinda important drive since it contains all my music and games.

Oh, I had that too.

You need to assign a drive letter in disk management.

Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Computer Management -> Disk Management

Thanks =D
