time is not valve time

(no clue where to post or if has been posted before but something interesting found)

No offense but this is a nonsense comparison.

And no discredit to BMS or Valve but when you think Valve built the engine from the ground up this thing you have posted ignores the obvious fact.

But still interesting I guess. And Valve took a long time between HL1 and HL2

I know its nonsense just found it on a random site and thought is was interesting enough to post here. still don’t know where I should have posted it though.

well considering that Black Mesa achieved a lot more than some new games that come out today do… Kept my interest from start to finnish I’d say that if those figures are correct software companies should start firing

One of the devs made it (I think)

It’s missing one critical thing; Black Mesa is a remake of an already highly-successful & above-average game, so very little originality was needed. (And I think he overestimated the number of themes & enemies BM has)

I think he also overestimated the amount of hours put into it.

don’t know who made it but, there are that meany themes in BM, look at the areas you go through.
also side note I found this here https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/VideoGame/BlackMesa has some interesting data… but nothing relivent

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
