This is not a cake.

Hello gents. Made this wallpaper tonight.

Sorry, it’s PNG and 2.0+ MB in size, so I scaled it down for preview.

Oh and it’s an ungodly hour here, so I couldn’t contact any of my French-speaking friends to verify my word choice, so… yeah.
Someone who knows what they’re about, check this please. Tell me if I need to fix anything for posterity. :stuck_out_tongue:

Distoban Mockup. August 10th.

Download:
1280 x 720 ( 1.2 MB )

This is a mockup of Distoban, a video game I am developing with a good friend of mine, a MIT programmer who goes by the username of Juhkystar. It is a 2D arena SHMUP with an open world and a strong focus on storytelling and exploration. This mockup illustrates a slightly outdated concept. Our interpretation of the game world has changed since then to a less open aesthetic.

Sorry about the odd wallpaper size. We are going for a standard 720p resolution.

Grimdark Packman. March 24th.

Download:
1440 x 900 ( 0.9 MB )

Nazi Coin. March 21st.

Download:
3456 x 2304 ( 9.7 MB )
1440 x 900 ( 2.1 MB )

Before anyone gets any wrong ideas, I am not in any way supporting Nazism or fascism. However, I do like the aesthetic of this decrepit coin. Daresay, this wallpaper captures that aesthetic perfectly. Coin is nowhere as dramatic or impressive as it is in this pic.

My mother found this Nazi coin in eastern Ukraine. She unearthed it while working at our dacha many years ago. It is a 1940 issue of the 10 Reichspfennig denomination, I believe. We also found spent bullet casings from German and Soviet pistols in that field. Which gets the imagination going, does it not, hmm?

Awesome, downloaded it, it’s now mine

Your French is good, don’t worry.

Good to hear! I looked back at my post archives, and I noticed you corrected my jumbled French before. Something about brunet. Good to know I got it right this time around. :stuck_out_tongue:

I made a 1920 by 1200 version of the Portal wallpaper! Check the first post for a link.

I’ll also upload two of my old wallpapers for your pleasure. Keep an eye on the second post. It’ll take me a little time to update with all the links.

Allright, updated.

Deth-Pac is epic. I will now see him every time I return to my desktop.

…wait nevermind.

Awesome pictures!

Thanks man. :stuck_out_tongue:

Thanks!

Sweet! If you post a screenshot of your desktop with my wallpaper, I will love you forever. Or not at all. As you prefer.

I’m taking requests. Anyone want any wallpapers? Ask away!

Pretty nice wallpaper, though grungy paper-like backgrounds isn’t that much of my thing – still a good wallpaper! :3

Well, when you mention it…

I currently have a picture of the Delorean from Back to the Future Part II (the Mr. Fusion flying model), and would rather like to see a wallpaper consisting of Freeman holding the car up in the air with his gravity gun (in cartoon style, or whichever you prefer). Light or dark colour background, but not too much colour.

Or perhaps you should wait for a different request… :fffuuu:

That’s how I roll, anyway… :freeman:

Where’s the 1920x1080 one?

lrn2crop

Either you need to learn to crop a picture, or…

… you are already dealing with accepting the original PNG format of the wallpaper, so hogging resources with a 3+MB image isn’t an issue for you, and you will just set the wallpaper to “centered” and the image will auto-adjust to your system.

Cropping, of course, will allow you to get the image down to the right size, and also save it to a more optimized format, which might kill some of the quality, but leave more power for your computer to game with

I like that! I’ve got a couple ideas about its design. Looking forward to working on it this weekend.

Yeah, just crop the 1920x1200 one mate.

I added another wallpaper to the second post.

It’s a mockup of a video game I am developing with a good friend of mine.

Oh my… this is highly interesting!

Lovin’ it!

I see him every time I close my eyes :fffuuu: bolts up in bed

nom-nom-nom :aah: Aaaagh!!!

love the coin one
you wouldn’t happen to have a higher resolution of it?

Thanks! Added to my trophy folder. :stuck_out_tongue:

I do! The original is 3456x2304. I can’t upload the PSD of it ( 55 MB ) but I’ll add a PNG fullsize link to the 2nd post… as soon as decide where to upload the 9.7 MB monster.

You can always upload them yourself with dropbox so long as you bear with the hideous upload speed.
