Agree almost completely. Just replayed Half-Life and there’s blatantly a scientist with a caserol in the microwave at the start where you, as Gordon, can destroy by continuously pressing E on the microwave. Presumably the scientist is supposed to be Magnusson (well, presumably it was decided that would be Magnusson when Ep 2 was written), so you could have him in that room. There shouldn’t be any interaction really though. In saying that, the scientist in HL doesn’t get mad when you blow up his caserol. He just keeps walking up to it expecting it to be ready soon, which is quite funny. I reckon it could be quite good to actually have him get mad. Or perhaps it wasn’t that scientist’s meal and he was waiting for the microwave to be free. Perhaps safer not to have Magnusson, but I reckon it could be done with the right restrictions. I agree about the rest though.
No. He was the guy that Magnusson left there to watch his casserole for him. Magnusson does not appear in the game, even as a retcon.
