The Walter White Wacky Fun-time Thread!

I was kind of surprised that seeing all the money put things in perspective for him. But he’s gonna have to fight his way out. The guys from Phoenix will not like this new development.

edit: ^ holy shit da best thang

Loved Hank’s big deduction. I always have imagined the Hank-Walt showdown to be a subtle, awkward scene where both of them know that the other knows.

This episode… I’m speechless really. (Now have to wait another year)

I totally wasn’t expecting the moment where Hank catches on to be such an ironic and undramatic scene. But it was brilliant, the whole season was. It’s almost like karma for killing Gale, first they discover his lab notes in his apartment which sets Hank on the trail of Gus, and now Hank finds the Walt Whitman book that Gale gave to Walt.
Those two montages were probably the best (and goriest) ones I’ve ever seen in a show. I wonder how long they had been waiting for the perfect moment to use that ‘Crystal Blue Persuasion’ song.
Did anyone else notice all the recurring shots and throwbacks to previous episodes in this finale?

I noticed a few of those. I chuckled a bit noticing the fly at the beginning.
It was also somewhat uneasy feeling to see them commit all those murders in a prison so easily and in the open without a second look.
And now we get to wait almost a whole year for this brilliance to continue. Now I have something new to complain about not being out yet. :stuck_out_tongue:

I know next to nothing about prison life/shankings, but if Vince’s commitment to accuracy over the rest of the series is any indication, I bet something like that could be coordinated in real life if the connections were good enough. It would take connections to both prisoners and guards, but I bet it’s not entirely impossible to pull off.

Did anybody happen to notice the fate of the lawyer who was mentioned?

I don’t remember seeing a lawyer among those shanked in prison.

Obviously since he was forgotten he is gonna have some really convenient role.

I guess.

He was the man killed while on the telephone!

Heisenberg is correct. He was the first to be shanked.

That whole scene was fucking brutal! I actually had to look away a few times due to how violent it was, and I’m usually pretty desensitized to this stuff.

Same here. When I rewatched the episode earlier today, I couldn’t stomach it a second time. I can watch someone’s head get blown off by a hollow point from a hand gun, but something about being stabbed twenty times with a relatively dull point and not dying immediately is very unsettling. Same with being burned alive.

…Oh, right. I forgot he had been arrested! (I had my eye open for someone not in a jumpsuit, because I thought they were talking about a current lawyer.)

Thank you! That cleared it up.

Just listened to the insider podcast, interesting insight into the episode, but having to wait another 10 months is going to suck so hard. Ah well, at least Walking Dead starts next month.

Hey guys, over here in the US, we do this stuff for shits-n-giggles… everyone here likes to partake in a nice old-fashioned shankfest every now and again… but yes, this was pretty brutal shit, even by our standards.

Fridge, you were not privy to launch?.. you and Ram aren’t mates?.. aren’t you guys mere miles away from each other?

Its not all that violent, as it isn’t violence for the sake of it. Its a realistic portrayal of prison murders especially when they want to make sure they work out. I don’t know how realistic the fire scene was though. Its to show that Walter now does this without remorse.

It may be a realistic depiction, but 9 stabbings + 1 burning over the course of two minutes is a bit extreme.
(IDK how long the montage was, going by Walter’s time frame he gave Todd’s uncle)

I think its necessary to make sure viewers aren’t still sympathizing with him. Walter White really isn’t in shades of gray anymore. He is pretty much a bad man.

Edit: Also this reminded me of how I can’t look forward to more of Mike next year :’( https://blogs.amctv.com/breaking-bad/2012/08/jonathan-banks-interview.php?utm_campaign=AMC_BB_9.4.12&utm_medium=Email&utm_source=MarketTraq&utm_term=213841
