The Unofficial Official Chat Thread

Eh, I was already on the fence. Got my preorder back, so I’m probably going to pick up Natural Selection 2 instead and maybe pledge to Sui Generis. I already have a lot of games to play anyway so it’s no big deal.

so much lol

So guys,
CoDBlops 2?? MW3 was plain terrible but Treyarch seems to have shaken things up again this time

MW3: Not as bad as everyone pretends it to be.

Not the single-player, anyway.

Couldn’t give a shit, same game a few different nuts and bolts with a new coat of paint. Now, Black Cops is a different story…

There’s a game I could get behind.

it’s supposed to be Carl of Duty

Carl on Duty.* :hmph:

So I saw someone posting screenshots of this game last night fully maxed out and there were no shadows besides the preplaced ambient ones. Not sure if that’s really how it is or if there was a problem with his game.

Blops 2, you mean?

If Desmond from Assassin’s Creed had a child who then went into the Animus, which then showed him Desmond while he was in the Animus, what would that be like?

A massive mindfuck.

That isn’t a spoiler, is it? (@ Max)

I’d assume it would be exactly how the player experiences it. One of my favorite theories was that the entire game takes place at a future date after the end of the world and you are experiencing Desmond’s memories through an animus-like machine ([color=’#151515’]though it doesn’t seem like it’s going that route so far…).

Alternatively, we already have seen something similar…Ezio viewing Altair’s memories. The disks he found in Constantinople were very much like miniature animi. When Ezio used them to view Altair’s memories, it wasn’t much different than when Desmond was only viewing Ezio’s memory. It seems there is no loss of clarity if you view a memory within a memory. You experience everything the ancestor does, and if that includes living through another memory, you view it as if there were no extra “level” in between.

Part of me suspects it has to do with how the technology of TWCB operate…it has a lot to do with memory and information being linked through some extra-dimensional space (such as the Sync Nexus). In some ways, TWCB and the Forerunners had very similar ways of imparting and storing information. TWCB had the Sync Nexus while the Forerunners had the Domain.

Not that I’m aware of the series jumped the shark for me when:

Almost four days since I’ve logged into steam. I’ve played nothing but solitaire, chess, freecell and a little bit of happy wheels. It’s like I’m turning into a normal person.

/goes back to playing AC3

Not aliens. More like the civilization that came before ours.

That’s even worse.

Where else would all these powerful artifacts have come from?

It was a totally logical direction for what was shown.
