Next semester I’m going back to coding again, though I haven’t done it in so long I’m afraid I might not even remember enough to take the class properly.
I believe the helmets are fine, but I’ve tried this texture based on your suggestions, as for the holes, no they’re about 6 polys each circle
Those look really nice. 
Now ignoring historical accuracy, I think the one on the far right would look really awesome with red velvet on the crownlike piece. I’m not sure what you are going for, so this is more of just an opinion than a suggestion.

, but I’m still making more helmet models, as for what are they for, they’re for the “egyptian” story I’m working on, I thought including cursed twisted knight templars stuck for eternity in an egyptian tomb “the city you saw a while ago” would be nice, I was inspired from Clive Barker Jericho for this plot
Look at photos of the things you make. think about how they were made and how they would be used. A helmet like those was made by hammering steel flat and then bending and riveting the pieces into place. do those textures suggest that? How old are these helmets and how have they been used? have they been taken care of? dirt and rust should accumulate more in nooks and crannies that are harder to clean out. rendering AO maps should help

Joking aside, though, it’s probably one of the cave sound effects. It plays if there’s an unlit 3x3x3 area anywhere within 20 blocks of you, but only in the overworld, and only when there are less than 3 in-game days left (before you fail and your save is deleted, if you haven’t picked on that yet) for the part of the main quest where you have to find the 4 elemental cruxes and return them to their respective shrines.
Of course, you’ve probably retrieved those from the darkheld realms by now, but you should really get on it. It would suck to lose all your work.
Oh goodness, I remember trying to collect all the diamonds to make a portal to darkheld. :fffuuu:
