Which is to say, forever.

confuse each other more

What if we are already confusing eachother infinitely?

my progress ā€œso farā€ with the Crusaders gears, as you can see I’ve finished the helmets and shields, now I’ll start with making the weapons, here’s a render of how do they look like now

Idi, TGP I thought you might find that interesting

Those are really nice, what sort of project is this? Or are you not allowed to say?

it’s my own project, it’s a story :stuck_out_tongue: , I’ve been working on it for a quite long time, and I told you before about it in previous pages

So I went to visit my childhood home over the weekend.

It was weird. Everything seemed so small.

My childhood home would probably seem pretty small to me too. It’s probably totally different anyway.

I still live in my childhood home…

i looked up on goggle earth the village i grew up in when i was little and it was freakin weird to discover it was only literally 1 mile across at its biggest point. felt so huge at the time

I just looked up the area I live in and it’s less than half of a mile.

There’s a drainage pond or something nearby that’s nearly the same size.

So, the antenna in my wireless card fell off and won’t go back in. It still works a bit but not very well. Thinking of either wiring for ethernet to my computer or getting a new wireless card. Does anyone have any suggestions for good wireless cards? The one I have right now is a Linksys wmp54G.

^ Or you can get a USB wireless converter. I used one for my desktop for about 6 months before I got fed up with the shitty driver and wired CAT-5 to my desktop (around 60’ to the nearest modem).

Go for the higher-end gadgets if you decide to get an adapter. It’s not cheap, but it’s worth it compared to the hair pulling that happens when you’re in the middle of playing a multiplayer game and you get a data choke because the driver’s having another fit… either that or get one of the numerous Windows 7 default drivers.

What do you mean by USB wireless converter? Is it just a wireless card but plugs in using USB? I don’t know how far away from the router my computer is, but it’s on the other end of the house and two floors down. Best case would be to replace a phone line with an ethernet line as I have two phone jacks pretty close to my router and computer. Do you know how much that would cost and who I should have do it?

Also, what advantages do wireless cards that use USB/PCI/Ethernet have over each other?

replacing cables that far would be a total hassle jsut get whatever new wireless thing its prob all basically the same its 2013 and they put wifi in toasters.

I just don’t want to buy something shitty.

Edit: Okay, I found a few that look nice, over different types and prices.

This one looks pretty nice. It’s more a router but can be used as a network bridge or whatever it’s called. It’s pretty expensive though.

https://microcenter.com/product/247105/Xtreme_N_Desktop_PCI_Adapter
This one is PCI like the one I have, and has three antennas that apparently give better reception than 1 or 2. It’s also the cheapest of the three I’m looking at.

This one is a USB adapter. I found it ranked number one on a site that ranks wireless cards and adapters, but since it doesn’t really have any antennas, I’m worried about reception.

I wish I could try these for a bit, each of them, to see how well they work before I fork over the money for them.

Edit 2: Also this one, which is really cheap

Pretty much, you know about MOBO’s so I’ll be straight with you. It’s pretty much a wireless card in a smaller package that plugs directly into your mobo.

It depends on how long the cord is. It’d be cheaper to go with the cable in this circumstance, but you’re going to need to spend the time to feed it through the holes in the wall(s) and through nooks and crannies which can be time consuming, it took me around an hour and a half to feed mine through the holes and nooks around the basement of my home, my basement isn’t ā€œfinishedā€ as in it doesn’t have dry wall everywhere. Anyway, two floors down equates to around 12’ of cable down and if it’s across the house I’d wager another 100’ or so if not more. It depends on your home, I’m making guesstimates here. I’d get a 200’ cable to be safe (extra’s better than being short a foot).

As for the adapter, it saves you the headache of getting another wireless card. They’re pretty much the same thing.

USB/PCI: Time. You don’t have to feed that cable through the holes in the wall of your home. Also note that those jacks you mentioned, there’s no telling how far they go and if they’ll get caught (in which case you’ll be fucked) there’s a TV cable that’s in my wall and it hasn’t come out in years (its caught on something) nothing short of cutting open the wall to check what the hell it’s caught on is going to jiggle it loose.

USB: Again time, saves you the problem of having to install the card into the mobo, and it uses up one of your USB slots (although if you’re gamer, that’s a non-issue).

PCI: Need to dismantle the machine slightly to pull out the card. Otherwise, same thing as above.

Ethernet: Steady connection, no headaches with a shitty network driver, best for multiplayer gaming on the PC/Mac. It’s up to you on how you want to handle it. If I were you, I’d go with the adapter or PCI.

My desktop tends to run pretty hot, even when it’s not doing much, and the upstairs room where it’s set up can get very hot during the summer.

Is there any chance of a warm room actually making it perform worse or get fucked up or something? Does computer cooling even work like that?
