I love folklore.
Apparently there is some sort of bogeyman in the Belgian Flanders region, called “De Nikker” (literally: "The Nigger).
It was said that it was a naked black man who could shapeshift into a black hound (this was in the 17th century, btw). When witnesses saw him eat a child, an angry mob hunted him down. The angry mob found a random homeless black man and, regardless of it being the cannibal man or not, lynched and skinned him. Afterwards they buried his skin in some church.
Ever since, a black ghost with deep red eyes started appearing in the region. It is said that he’s looking for his skin to become whole again. Children are told that if they stay up past their bedtime, the “Nikker” will come to them and eat them alive.

Recently gave The xx’s second album a listen, was pretty disappointed. It seemed like they just found a formula for a decent dark-sounding love/heartbreak song and just did that over and over again.
You could say that the first album was like that too.
well, kinda, but there was way more variation and some experimentation
the second album just sounds like they’re capitalizing on the success of the first and not much more

Was selling my old camera on a second-hand website for €150 with €50 starting bid. Someone bid €60 early on, but yesterday some other guy bought it for the full €150.
I thought I’d be nice and personally mail the first bidder that someone straight out bought it. His reply was: “flikker op” (bugger off).

OH MY WOD, I got stung by a bee :’( I had never had it happen before, it was so damn painful. I just wanted to get water from the tap and didn’t notice a bee was there (inside the thing I guess) so I opened it up to get a glass to drink and it stung my finger. Now two of my fingers look like sausages and itch so much
