The Sacrifice Comic: Part One

I’ve got it downloading right now, oddly enough it’s downloading faster than it ever has before.

I took Ukraine, cause in Germany I only got 6 kb/s :>

How do you download it? Steam doesn’t do anything, except crashing on my com…

EDIT: It finally works

Now it’s gone back down to a rather slow 80kb/s (it reached 1mb/s not long ago). But the l4d1 version was finished in the time it took to do 1% of the l4d2 version.

L4d2 version is 3,5 GB big…

After trying (and failing) the sacrifice finale 3 times, I can safely say it’s not one for single player. There is a never ending river of tanks in the last few seconds which you should be spending trying to restart a generator but instead need to fight off tanks because the bots are as useless as ever.

Edit: While I’m here, I don’t remember hearing any new lines, the hunting rifle in l4d1 is now like the l4d2 version, you can use a HMG at the end but it doesn’t make any noise (in l4d1 at least) and the levels themselves seem quite good but it’s clearly been designed with l4d2 in mind.

my steam is taking it’s time to download it…

By far my least favorite campaign in any of the L4D games. It’s okay, but wow. I can’t remember ever being THAT bored in a L4D campaign.

Seriously? I thought the ending was great (though hard), at any rate it’s certainly better than crash course.

the 4th part of the comic isnt released for me yet…

Yeah, and where you can find it, all the pics are just black 1x1 GIF placeholders. :frowning:

I can see it fine…

I will play this tomorrow or two days from now. Seems like it is impossible to create a new game from the lobby now since it can’t find a server to play on. Everybody tries to play it at the same time hammering Valve’s servers. But this is expected with every new big release from Valve.

I tried hosting it myself (I got 15/15 Mbps connection which should be more than enough) and two of the players had a latency of 200ms (ping). How they got into my lobby I don’t know. I don’t want asshats from australia (or somewhere else on the other side of the globe) in my lobby when I’m living in Norway. Fix the stupid matchmaking.

I played all the way through the campaighn, in the end my team (at the same time) won AND lost because three of us ended up dying at the same time (just as the player controlling Louis activated the generator. what a wierd glitch. Also when we voted to skip the “credits” all four checkboxes were checked and they just persisted AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Let’s say it again, third time.

“Nah. This DLC didn’t save L4D. Let’s go back to playing TF2.”

The link on the comic page isn’t up, but you can still view the thing on the L4D website. click

What are you people talking about? The link is up. It has been since about three.

It’s not showing for me, but the page=129 trick works.

It’s kind of good that I don’t get to play this for a few more hours, as by then the Steam servers won’t be getting hammered so hard.

We’re supposed to get monday’s surprise today. Wonder what that will be.

There seems to be an issue with the storyline from the comic and the storyline from the game… In the comic, the survivors raise the bridge, get on a boat, and get the hell outta there. In the Sacrifice DLC, The survivors raise the bridge and it cuts off there. In the Passing, they are… still hanging around the bridge? What? Why?
