I looked at the wikipedia page for Cat’s Cradle yesterday, and now amazon.com just sent me an email recommending it.

That’s kinda creepy.

You should read it, though.

There are a lot of science fiction books I should read.

And I think I just partially spoiled the twist ending in Bioshock Infinite for myself. Fuck.

I’ve been trying for weeks to unlock the geth juggernaut in ME3. Finally today I broke down and bought $50 of bioware points out of frustration and spent it all on packs.

…I still didn’t get it. :fffuuu: I don’t know whether I’m angrier at bioware or myself but I swear it’s like they know that’s all I want and are purposely withholding it from me.

Adam Orth, Microsoft Studio’s Creative Director vs. Manveer Heir, developer at Bioware, regarding “always-on DRM”:

:rage:

what an asshole.

It seems he’s claiming “he was trolling his friend” or some such weak excuse. Whether he was joking or not hopefully Microsoft will see from the backlash just how much people are against this ridiculous idea.

It doesn’t look like he is talking about DRM at all. A person would have to see the whole conversation. Unless that is the whole conversation, in which case it looks more like he’s talking about hardware being in hibernation to me. Then when manveer goes apeshit over what he assumes is DMR, Orthy starts playing along rather than bothering to correct him.

Nah it’s pretty obvious he means a required always-on internet connection to be able to use the next Xbox. Well, it’s not obvious just from that pic, but there’s more to the story. Check it out here. This whole thing was started because he responded to rumors about the next Xbox requiring an always-on connection. It only blew up because he was being a stupid jerk about it, making fallacious comparisons to other products to insult people and telling them they needed to get better internet and deal with it.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
