I had to install an unofficial patch to run Red Faction. But it still doesn’t give me the option for 1366x768 resolution, and most of the function keys are permanently bound to a bunch of utterly useless multiplayer menus.
My god. All I want is a fucking wooden computer table. Ordinary wood, with a full size pull-out keyboard tray. None of your fucking desk drawers, or cunthuffing bookshelves on the top, or shit-eating PC tower compartments, or glass goddamn tops, or cockgobbling rollaway storage shelves. A wooden table. With a full-size keyboard tray. This can’t possibly be this fucking hard to find.
EDIT: I mean, look at this fucking thing.
That’s like eight times as much shit as I want.
Fuck it, I think I’ll just buy an ordinary goddamn table and stick a keyboard tray on it myself.
Sometimes I tend to think that simplicity is now more expensive that complexity.
Well, fuck my buns, in an hour and a goddamn half of searching, I’ve found one goddamned thing that’s anything like what I’m looking for.
And it’s $95 on Amazon - down from $263. Because all the reviews say it’s cheap shit.
I applaud the way you describe the desks you don’t like.
you should build one yourself, with a little bit of planning and a good DIY store it’s not much more difficult than ikea furniture, and it’s probably much cheaper than 95$
Fallout 3 keeps crashing when traveling the wasteland, all other small cells doesn’t cause crashing. I managed to figure out it has something to do with the Water settings in the option menu before going to school. I’ve now searched for a bit and someone mentioned that Water reflection caused his crashing, going to turn those settings off when I’m back home.
EDIT: Got home, tried changing those settings. Crashed anyway. I then proceeded to remove my headset’s drivers and disable GFWL for Fallout 3. Don’t know which one did it, but it doesn’t crash anymore.
Right now I’m using a really old Herman Miller computer desk. The chair doesn’t fit under it, and there’s a separate pedestal for the monitor that wobbles a lot.
im using a coffee table infront of my couch i dont own a desk and soon i wont own a functional spine either
maybe not a bad idea to fix the spine situation then
i literally dont have space for a desk right now. im gonna move this summer to a less terrible place hoopfully my back bones will survive till then else ill jsut move to a belltower or something instead
my desk is not made for computers, it’s a standard desk with 3 drawers on each side.
This desk is unbreakable(1" thick wood) and weighs more than a washing machine and dryer combined. The only downside is moving and that my floor is now all uneven, caving under the weight of the desk.
^Sounds a lot like my desk. I love it, except it’s getting wear marks from where I’ve scraped my legs against it, and the drawers are falling apart. I think it needs to go soon, along with my chest of drawers which is also falling apart. I should probably just buy new furniture, but I like the idea of making my own, sounds like a fun project.
repairing old stuff is the best imo
i love broken down old shit that has been fixed up to be useful again
My desk is just a regular ass wooden computer desk with the useless shelves and towers and crap, except that I chopped all that stuff off, and spent 8 bucks at home depot for some hardboard to resurface it to better fill out the closet space I have my computer crammed into
pretty much the cyberpunk version of bolteh’s setup
Got my desk from Goodwill for $15. No idea what kind it is, but it is a computer desk. I think. There’s a hutch to place my two computer monitors, a thing on the right hand side that holds CDs (I don’t have any; all my music has been digitized), and two open areas on the left and right sides of my feet; the left holds my computer tower, the right holds…well, nothing currently. On the left side is a lower level which can be used for, I guess, a printer or something, but I’m using it to hold my headphones charging tower (love my wireless 'phones) and desk fan.
Functional, but I want something a bit more modern looking. Maybe later.
On-topic: Something making me very angry right now is my inability to become angry. What’s causing that is that I am giddy, in fact, with happiness at the moment. Why? I have just been accepted into a college for computer character animation! I start at the end of June. My excitement, right now, is almost palpable (to paraphrase Dr. Kleiner). I can’t wait!
The desk I’ve got now is really awesome; it’s just a bit cramped.
I took that pic a couple years back when I’d just built my rig. It was my dad’s when he was a kid. It’s just a bit cramped. See how the keyboard is off center? If I center it, there’s no room for my mouse. And the space under the desk is too small to slide my rolly chair into, so I’m constantly just a bit further away from the desk than is comfortable. Also, since it’s so small, having the keyboard and mouse on top means I have pretty much no desk space for anything else. It’s a great desk, but I might be getting a raise pretty soon, and I figure one of the first things I’ll get is a computer desk that’s a bit roomier.
I gotta say, your play on words almost got me all hot and bothered. Almost. But anyway, perhaps do this?
gee i’m sure a google image search will be a great help in his search for a desk
The point is that he can buy a desk and buy the keyboard tray. DONE.
