Been trying to get Model Viewer running again.
Hey awesome, I can no longer skin in HL2 without having to start the fucking thing.

For some reason 2013 HLMV doesn’t like working, but the old SDK launcher one has no problems. Thankies, Vlave!
The old one? You mean the one with the Source 2006, 2007 and 2009?
It’s Valve. They like to break shit occasionally then take forever to fix it.
Yeah, but in this case they’re trying to phase out the SDK launcher, meaning it’s probably not going to be fixed, or at the very least, not any time soon.
Yup.
What the hell kind of machines play the multiplayer of Persona 4 Arena? I only managed to win one match out of 24 played, and the damn ranking system kept setting me up with people better than me. I got matched up with a rank S player FOUR FUCKING TIMES.
Between that and the damn Score Attack mode with fucking perma-Sukujaka’d Yosuke tearing me a new asshole no matter what character I use, I’ve come to a solid conclusion: This game hates me. A lot.
You mean the one I’ve been trying to get running?
So Legend of Korra is being moved to digital release… I fucking hate networks who can’t make up their minds and end up axing great shows (staring at you Fox and Syfy), it doesn’t look good at all. So far it seems the show isn’t canceled, but it’s going down a dark path.
That show completely dropped off my radar after the first season. I still haven’t seen the rest of it.
I haven’t seen Book Two yet… waiting for the DVD / Blu-ray release here (20th August).
Can’t watch the episodes on the Nickelodeon site due to regional restrictions :meh:
I haven’t been able to watch it since Season 1…
EDIT:
Why has everyone already said everything I have to say about this? :fffuuu:
I just got a new set of speakers. My old speakers are Creative T20s - crappy 2.0 desktop speakers, basically, but I’m actually very impressed with them for how much they cost and for the fact that they’re 2.0. The on/off mechanism is embedded in the volume knob, and it’s starting to wear out, so the speakers will go through fits for hours at a time where I just can’t turn them on. I’ve taken them apart a couple times, and the whole knob is one piece that’s soldered onto the board, and I don’t have the tools or expertise to fix it.
So, since I just got a job, I figured I’d upgrade. I shopped around for a while and settled on Klipsh ProMedia 2.1s. Everyone says these are hands-down the best 2.1 computer speakers on the market, that the only way to get better-sounding speakers is to pay hundreds of dollars more, and that the Klipsch ProMedia’s even outdo a lot of the speakers in that price range.
I got them yesterday and hooked them up this morning. They sound terrible. They’ve got this awful tinny treble-y sound to them; listening to them sounds like I’ve cupped my hands over my ears. No matter how many times I switch back and forth, my T20’s sound better.
IMO (not using any sort of surround) just using an amplifier and traditional speakers is the cheapest way to go in the long term, and always sounds great as long as your amp and speakers are decent.
In which case I’d recommend buying old second-hand stuff from high quality brands such as Pioneer. Those things are built to last
I just use my heaphones for literally everything because the only other option is monitor speakers. Better sound, and generally better reflexes in combat games.
Two words: Good Will. You can find (large - the kind you use for sound systems and are about the size of a 5 year old kid if not larger) speakers in those stores around where I am (Northern Virignia) are sold for about $20 USD for the pair. Mind you the subwoofer on them is usually blown out, you’d have to google and research the type of speaker to see if it’s worth replacing it.
Edit: More news about LoK:
In a nut shell, it was apparently planned, but they abruptly enacted it with a bit of a push from Nick it seems, so I guess it bodes a hell of a lot better than I previously thought.
Funny you should mention monitors, because I just went to Guitar Center and bought a pair of M-Audio AV40s. They’re entry level monitors that were going for about $150 a pair, and they sound goddamned amazing. I’m listening to Trentemoller, and some of his ridiculously complex mixes like The Forest and Klodsmajor are sounding better than I’ve ever heard them before.
I’ve also got a nice set of headphones. I usually use them for 3D games. But if I want to move around the room while I’m listening to music or play a platformer or even just don’t feel like wearing headphones, I want to have a nice set of speakers to replace my old 2.0’s with the borked on/off knob. These were a great choice; they blow the Klipsch ProMedia’s out of the water.
Headphones are a great thing to have if you’re playing video games. Especially horror games.
My headphones broke like a week ago. I’ve been using apple earbuds from my ipod and FUCK I forgot how much less comfortable these are.
I’m tired, I’m wet because it’s been raining since 8PM last night and my umbrella is broken, and now I’m waiting for class to start so I get get the midterm I failed back and see what it is I need to work on, which is probably everything.
Fuck Calculus. Wish it wasn’t a prerequisite for so many unrelated things.
Dude, the professor you take it with is key. I did poorly in my other math classes even when I started taking notes with my laptop.
Prior to that, it was pen & paper; as it turns out, I got lucky and managed to get an excellent professor and I actually learned it and got a B in Calculus in a 6 week course no less. It was tough, but I managed.
Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
