THE RAGE TOPIC

People at the official Skyrim forums apparently think Steam is this piece of shit software which never works and that Valve is a greedy company only out for your money. They also don’t like it because it requires an internet connection which is fucking bullshit. Nobody has a pc and no internet these days. It’s so cheap. Makes me rage hard.

‘‘I absolutely refuse to purchase a game that requires a steam (or any equivalent) subscription. Honestly, if it were not illegal, I would vastly prefer to download a pirated copy and send a monetary amount to the developer. I want to be able to install and play my game 10 years from now if both the developer and STEAM are either 1) out of business or 2) no longer support this ‘old’ game. Currently, this would not be possible. I sincerely hope that Bethesda does not opt for this option. Regarding prior games that have been launched with steam, empirical observation indicates that the developers are losing a lot of sales by forcing players to use steam. Additionally, this strategy does not appear to effect piracy (after all, shortly after the games are released, pirated versions are readily available free of steam).’’
‘‘I buy hard copies only. I don’t care how mega-amazing TES V turns out to be, I flatly refuse to pay out good money to rent an intangible product. Granted, it’s probably using the least invasive DRM but I’d rather have the hard copy and suffer the evils of SUX-ROM than enduring the lag infested STEAM delivery system.’’
‘‘I’d be the one out celebrating in the streets the day Valve gets sued into bankruptcy for fraud after banning people who paid for products they can no longer legally use. It will happen. It’s only a matter of time.’’
‘‘My familys poor ,but we saved up for a nice computer this year, so i hear skyrim coming out and i’m ecstatic ,so i wait till Christmas and get it, then go to install and i cant cause i dont have internet and my family also cant afford it’’
''But yeah, I would not be happy if Skyrim was steam exclusive. And this comes from someone who uses steam a lot for other games. If your internet goes down you can’t play. If you don’t have an internet connection you can’t play. Granted there are good sides to steam but the elder scrolls series has always been independent. I can’t explain my last argument; I will just be disappointed if another great game was forced to only work with Steam. ‘’

GRRRRR > :frowning:

Pretty valid points bro, I use steam only for valve games, entering retail cd keys, and for cheap stuff in sales. It’s 10x better to have a physical copy.

But steam doesn’t force you to buy it from them. You can always buy a physical copy if you want.

Yeah, so that’s ok. But by the sound of it, they were complaining about the possibility of TESV being steam exclusive, which would be kinda shitty.

You must hate the idea of onlive then… what ever happened to that, meh.

dude its true though, youre ugly as hell

She probably has a groin sausage

and for the thread:

:rage: :rage: :rage:

Fuckn’ lag on HL: Deathmatch. I don’t even wanna mention how many times I was instakilled from the spawn points… :frowning:

it works I played dirt2 on it about 30 seconds ago

angles leaked but i have to wait for my best friend to listen to it with me

Huh weird must be catering to the us market then cos I never knew it was out. Are you using a free account?

Might try it if you can play on a free account…

I would never pay for it obviously it’s got free trials.

Just demos though I bet. Also they need some viral videos to let people know shits ready.

I’ll try it later on tho.

Added Bonus: You can’t use image tags on a website with the picture somewhere on it and expect it to work.

Not my fault photobucket is counter-intuitive.

Try not being stupid.

Sounds dangerous.

Sounds impossible.

So, I guess a lack of a new swampfox or danny is making you guys turn to me? Hmm. I used to do some pretty stupid shit and you guys didn’t rank on me near this hard. Kinda sucks, though I should have expected it. Catz even fell to you. See you when the mod is released, I guess.

There always must be one.
