The Mod Thread

This Thread is meant to be used for those who want to show off either mods they’ve made or helped with, or just any mod that you’ve liked in the past.

I’ll Start off with my mod for Fallout 3 which is still unfinished and has no new screenshots or even a name but I’ve found some help recently in the fields of Voice acting and script writing from my schools Drama Club. My goal is to create a small main quest for a town I am building. So far I am the only one actually doing any real work in GECK but I plan on getting most of the levels and characters done by mid-summer.

I was on a couple mod teams, as an amateur programmer. I never really contributed, all I did was compile the code a few times. Both were bound to fail anyways, so it’s not like it was a major loss.
I had about a year of programming in C++ and a little Java back then, and I got in way over my head, but it was a bit of experience.

edit
Just found my printed copy of the concept for a mod team I was on. Based on the 7 hour war, and this guy wrote a few page story on it. I’ll scan it tomorrow for y’all to see.

I worked a little bit in the strider mod, And I am trying to work together with a few new people to do it again from scratch.

Goddamn.

If you download and play… read that thread first. This is very short, more of a “am I doin it rite” release than an actual mod.

However, much else has been accomplished since that release, though the project is still far from completion (and while everything made so far is playable, it isn’t 100% textured and lit, and so not screen-shot-able). The name of the mod, obviously decided after I made that thread, is “Overture,” and takes place before the events of Portal. (Shocker… portal prelude mods are a dime a dozen. I’ve got some good ideas for this one, though.)

I’m currently working on a mod which I’ll release soon- it’s based off of SMOD: Redux and is built to provide a more in-depth, advanced, and complex version of the Half Life 2 universe with more enemies, more weapons, higher quality graphics, and more effects.

Sounds like an interesting mod that you can make while uploading those skins…
