ALSO, I saw Cars 2 tonight. It wasn’t as bad as people made it out to be. It was fun, and of course, the animation was simply incredible.
Really the only problem I have with it is its so unnecessary. Cars didn’t require a sequel at all, and honestly none of the characters were good enough to make me want one.
Well I’m afraid you’re going to be disappointed in that case.
Also that she is a he in this movie. I have no idea if that’s accurate to the comics or not but the doctor behind Captain America’s strength serum is a man.
I’m the kind of nerd who plays video games, not the kind of nerd who reads comic books, so I couldn’t tell you.
Captain America - 9/10
I am really digging the new Marvel movies. For this one, they could have gone the misguided root and focused so much on Captain America that it would feel like a small-scale mess, but they did a remarkable job of making it feel like it was part of WWII, in a world wide epic of a story. Good job.
Very fun too.
blood of the templars
decent, nothing more nothing less
I enjoyed Captain America quite a bit too. Loved the ending.
I did see Sucker Punch as well, and that was simply amazing. I was watching it with a friend who watches the Disney Channel quite a bit (and of course anything in relation to that particular demographic), and she was pointing out that the main group of chicks came from the Disney Channel or a Disney movie. The main character was apparently in Lemony Snicket’s a Series of Unfortunate Events as well.
Limitless, quite an interesting action thriller with a sci fi twist. I felt like it was trying to fit too many storylines in at the same time and would have benefited from a more focused overall plot. And the ending left something to be desired.
A friend of mine called Limitless an extremely white movie about wealth and elitism; he then went on to call Home Alone a very WASPy film. He might have a point.
Super 8. I went to see it because of the trailer they put in Portal 2. I was somewhat disappointed afterwards.
Harry Potter 7.2 on Sunday night. It was pretty good; certainly the best of the Harry Potter movies, but also a good movie in its own right.
Captain America
It was fun, wasn’t terrific, although I must say I was surprised they didn’t have an army recruiter right at the exit to take the people who saw the movie and wanted to ship out right away.
The Dune movies of this generation from SyFy. Atrocious visual effects, excellent stories.
It is Captain America after all. However, I think most of the army/America propaganda was mainly a reflection of the time period and the character. The tone of the movie as a whole didn’t seem overly preachy or recruiteriffic to me, which I thought was nice.
It is kind of true. One thing that bugged me about it was that he had limitless potential for gaining knowledge, which he could have used to cure cancer or try and understand the universe, except he uses it to basically become a self indulgent billionaire and go into politics. I don’t know, I just felt they could have done more with it.
Saw Happy Potter 7 pt. 2. Great movie, the CGI were great, especially in UltraAVX 3D (less blurry than the standard Real3D effects), but I was a bit saddened by the fact that they retconned quite a lot of things from the book.
Just saw The Room.
10/10
Would never watch again.
YOU ARE TEARING ME APART LISA
Oh hi Mark.
God that movie was terrible. Unintentionally hilarious, but I definitely would never watch it again.
In the topic of terrible movies: August Rush.
I WANT TO SMOTHER ROBIN WILLIAMS
