isnt a kindle fire just one of those android tablets that are basically a big phone that cant make calls. the weird fake paper screen is pretty important to the e reading experience imo
It’s android-based, but lacking the android UI apps and the Google “Play” appstore, so unless you install CM10 on it or something, it’s just a kindle without e-ink.
And honestly I think e-ink displays are slow, ugly and more of a step back for display technology unless you count full visibility in direct sunlight.
Any screen other than e-ink will tire my eyes out.
Once the scores are put in for last night’s poker game I should be moving up from 23 in the bar to 16th. Yay! Probably won’t be making top 10 in the next four weeks, and will have to play the qualifying round of the tavern championship (for people outside the top ten to qualify for the main game, and the bigger prizes, as well as the regional championship held twice a year). But still quite an improvement 
I’m already looking into it. If everything else comes short I might send it to you, because it would otherwise just gather dust.
The first time I used an iPad it made me nauseous. I now only use it with the screen brightness most of the way down.

lol, i used to just turn around the casing of a boiled egg in its cuppy thingy after eating it, i thought it was sooo funny when the next person smashed his spoon on it and saw it was empty

And I’m starting to hate mine. It’s a 5, less than a year old and it’s already starting to refuse to bring the lock screen up when I press the lock or home buttons. Safari also usually takes two tries to load a page, and it frequently locks up and crashes. For unknown reasons sometimes it won’t give an alert for a text or email I receive. I’m already looking forward to my next (non-Apple) phone.
apple is always talking about device fragmentation in android then they go and use the same guts that are in most popular android phones

The scientific paper my colleagues and I have been busting our asses on for the last year or so got officially accepted this morning after minor revisions.
I’m glad I’ve sought help. Therapy and personalized help with finding a job start in two weeks ^^
Still feel utterly depressed most of the time, but at least now there’s some perspective, and something to prove to others (or maybe mostly to myself) that I’m “sick” in some way, and that I am trying, despite appearances.
This monastery actually has pretty good wifi, and it’s pretty cool in here to boot.
The thermometer says it’s nearly 80 degrees f in here, though. I suppose it just goes to show how stupidly hot it is outside.
