The Glock 17 for HECU Marines

I don’t really think the feature that is proposed would be a good regular feature. However, i think it might work in a scripted sequence of some kind.

Yeah, the idea sounds good in theory but like Kaweebo said it would get repetitive and ruin the effect. Maybe just once, as a scripted sequence though…

EDIT: Ninja’d

Or subvert it- have him fake a plea, then pull a grenade pin =P

OP made me realize that model specific death screams in MP would be pretty cool…

I wonder if perhaps we could do better to simply cut out the middle-man, so to speak, and not require any major coding (and the many hours of testing that it would demand) by just having all the grunts drop more than their main weapon? I know Uncle Sam is bankrupt but how is it that all our fine soldiers in Black Mesa seem to have only the bullets in their guns? What the hell is the point of those big vests covered in pouches if nothing is in them???

Simple Solution: Use the same code that allows grunts with secondary fire modes to drop a munition of that secondary fire along with the main weapon. Have that code drop one or two magazines of bullets, a glock, and a small chance of a hand-grenade or 40mm shell.

Effect: Lots of ammo for those who like to shoot things a lot and a minimum of work for our skilled dev-team.

The only reason I’d see a weapon switch from primary to secondary is due to running out of ammunition in the current magazine in the gun, and not being in sufficient cover to reload. Then the grunt could whip out the nine and suppress wildly in the player’s general direction while he sprints to hard cover. His squadmates should also suppress to cover the teammate while he gets behind something.

I seem to remember the Javid saying something to that extent in the “Got A Question” thread once, the last time Grunt Glocks(pat. pend) got brought up.

I felt sorry for this guy getting beaten up at 1:04.
If the devs could add something like that it would make me feel pretty bad. But then again it’s probaly too late to ask for something like that.

I stand by my suggested to have random post Forget About Freeman Grunts using Pistols instead of SMG or Shotguns.

I don’t see the point.

  1. Make grunts less dangerous (past mid-game, that doesn’t make sense)
  2. Soldiers don’t run out of ammo in less than one day, especially when they can get support.
  3. Worst case scenario, they can take ammo on their dead friends.
