Bullsh#t. Besides, even if your mac is that durable it’s still a piece of sh#t, and there is absolutely no point in keeping a computer for 14 years. My Mom bought a Macbook (yes, I did everything I could to try to change her mind) and the thing is horrible. It was nice and fast at first, but slowed down after only about 4 months of use. It holds only 70 gigs compared to pc laptops which often carry about 250. It cost here about $1,000 and about $200 dollars in repairs after one year, smashing your whole Macs are durable idea. Bottom line; macs suck.
The only reason I am writing this rant is because am really bored right now, which is actually quite fitting seeing as this is the boredom thread.

Half agree, half disagree. Macs are over priced, and if it lasts 14 years, well that’s nice, but you’re going to want to upgrade after 6 at the most, just at the rate technology is changing, a computer that lasts 14 years is just a waste of resources.
But her mac slowing down is most likely her lack of knowledge in computers more then anything. If you maintain a computer properly, the amount it will slow down can be pretty insignificant.

I sold my iMac after 2 years due to it being outdated.
They dont last that long.
And with the heating problems the Macbooks have (because they are one solid piece of metal), the parts die off one by one so it will never last 14 years, unless you never turn it on.
Plus, the batteries are shit, like all laptops.

Thats because its a laptop dipshit. Last I heard the PC laptops are all together as well. Plus only cheap cases or computer made by big brand companies are made out of plastic. My case is made out of solid steel (HAF 932), and my comp out preforms the $2,199 iMac, nevermind ur gay little macbook, and I only payed $1,500 for mine. That’s wonderful dissing on my Macbook, guys. Thanks. I lol’d so hard my face came off and my skeleton was exposed. My Macbook (as long as I use the Belkin Laptop Cooling Pad, I recommend it for all laptop users) stays cool with the laptop cooling pad and it can play Half Life 2: Episode Two on Windows XP with an excellent framerate. It can play the games that you guys play with the exception of Cyrsis (maybe) and the NVIDIA 9400M graphics card I have in my Macbook gives me a decent looking Alyx Vance so I’m happy with the Macbook graphics standard. The only person that was correct in this thread was Lamsey. He said that the fans labor and can fail when playing games on Windows on a Macbook. He is correct. The computer does get hot. That is why I use the laptop cooling pad. It helps tremendously. My Intel Core 2 Duo processor gives me fast loading times as well. Sure, my laptop does not have as much memory (gigabytes) as your laptops but it’s good enough for me. Go ahead and diss if you want. Peace out, my PC brothers and sisters. I used to have a PC and I would have bought a gaming laptop, however, Vista is all I saw and Vista sucks. Trust me, I have computer programming friends who know the failures of Vista. Wonder why Vista still hasn’t come out with Service Pack 2 yet? Probably because they want people to buy Windows 7 when it comes out. Windows XP and Windows 7 FTW!!!

Vista is by no means perfect, but it is not by any means deserving of all the flak it gets. And if you doubt my credentials in asserting that, I’m just about to graduate with a Master’s in Computer Science and I work for Sun Microsystems (who also make a bloody-good-yet-flawed OS, but in different ways).

I use vista on my old comp. And it is shitty 1 gig of RAm.
Guess what? It never crashed.
And mind you, I do have have iMac in the other room, though I don’t play games on it.
The computer I’m using right now has 1 gig of ram, and it can run Left 4 Dead at full settings. At 1280x1024. Although it is using XP.
You need a serious deficit in RAM for it to effect your video performance in games. The more RAM you have, the faster your load times will be, but lacking in the RAM department isn’t a massive problem in games. As long as your video card has lots of graphics RAM, you should be more or less fine.

Here’s a solution to the heating problem of the Macbooks. Use a laptop cooling pad that you place your laptop directly on so that it stays cool. I have used the Belkin Laptop Cooling Pad for this entire day and my Macbook is still cool. Also I rarely use the battery so that is not an issue. You say that all laptop batteries are pieces of crap. How about the built-in laptop battery? Have you heard of that? It’s placed inside the Macbook Pro 17-Inch Laptop. It runs for 8 hours and can last 5 years.
protip: laptop cooling pads shouldn’t be a requirement.
Honestly bro, this isn’t the “prove my mac is the greatest cause” thread, u made it cause u were bored and felt like telling the forums that u are a mac fanboy, not to prove how awsome and incredible u think your mac is. Its just common knowledge that macs, laptop or not, aren’t built for gaming.
