The Atomic MPC quote on the front page

Hello though this is my first time posting, I have been following Black Mesa Source for two years. I do reviews of freeware games as a hobby so your project interests me immensely.

I would like to point out though that the Atomic MPC quote on the front page (“one massive, jawdropping session”) is quite misleading. IMHO, I don’t think that the Atomic MPC writer was referring to your project; he was referring to the original Half-Life as evidenced by the sentence that preceded the quote in question:

After this he writes:

I hope this won’t be misconstrued as an attack, just a concerned community member giving his two cents.

Just in case you’re curious here are my Black Mesa: Source articles:

Black Mesa: Source article 1 (June 6, 2008 )Black Mesa: Source article 2 (January, 5 2009)
Black Mesa: Source article 3 (November 1, 2009)
Black Mesa: Source article 4 (September 11, 2010)

Wishing you all the best in finishing the mod. (If memory serves there’s a Deus Ex project that took 7 years to finish so the delay is understandable.)

Good job, party pooper.

Hope your mom is proud.

Christ, some people…

You’re welcome. Glad to help.

it’s not like the guys at atomic didn’t play black mesa with their jaws at their feet

although the only difference is that they only got to play 2 chapters

Aw, I bet he just put it for the visual pun when the quote and the toilet landing image coincide.

But it’s funny, don’t go away, quote. :frowning:

I’m pretty sure the Kotaku quote is a misquote as well.
“Black Mesa Trailer Is Some Hot Shit” != “Black Mesa is some hot shit”

the toilet picture gains +1 irony

I don’t see why it matters…they’re not selling it or anything so it doesn’t really make a difference…

Pedantic people hate fun things.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
