And why would gordon even WANT their weapons? Sure the assasin’s glocks are silenced, but he knows his is reliable, and it would’nt help him fight his way out of Black Mesa at all.

But the player is Gordon. If the player has the option to pick up a new weapon (even if it’s just slightly different from one he already has), he would.

It’s just how video games work.

But you can’t allow the player to do everything they would do and still make the game good. It’s impossible. And filling your giant inventory with another useless gun just means more work for the developers.

The assassins have the same exact weapon. The only difference is they put silencers on theirs. So for the developers to allow you to pic up the assassins pistols would be almost as pointless as adding another crowbar but just changing the color. Thats why, if anything, they should drop 9mm ammo. Other than that it’s a waste of the devs time trying to impliment it and it’s a waste of our time waiting for it and adding to download time.
