How is it overpowered. If anything, the demoman is overpowered because of the highlander. How much health do you get with that thing?
The eyelander is pretty easy to avoid, to be honest. I mean, it’s a little unbalanced, but not as much as some of the soldier stuff. It’s probably just a matter of adapting, though.
I seem to always get backed into a corner. Plus with the shield and boosted health it takes about 500 rockets to take one down.
One or two shots at the feet seems to do the trick for me…
Is it strange that the first demo & soldier achievements that I got were the rocket jumping ones?
first one i got was the nade one. joined game got bored randomly gained the equalizer rand up to a group of snipers and taunted. BOOM achievement unlocked lol.
My first soldier achievement was “the kill another enemy while you are both in the air” (name?) one, so that is technically related. Oddly I got it while I was on the ground.
EDIT: How do you kill a maxed out demo with the shield in only two hits? It takes at least 5.
EDIT 2: 6 if they are all direct hits from the Direct Hit. In other words, get that freakin’ thing balanced, Valve.
^ you suck!!
demos are easy to kill as solder I went suicide run with the equalizer.
I don’t have the equalizer.
I have completely stopped playing classes that involve explosions due to the Targe’s insane 65% explosive damage reduction ability. Back to scout&spy
Equalizer is going to be nerfed pretty quick. You run so fast with that thing when you’re low on health.
Faster than a pepped up scout?
Anything even close to a scout is too fast, since you are a soldier, who should be slow. But the most unbalanced thing is still the targe.
Playing Pyro against the many waves of targe/Eyelander demos is quite pointless, taking into account the fact that the Eyelander has the same range as the flamethrower, and the Targe is mostly resistant to fire anyways.
I have all of the weapons, I just don’t have the Rocket Jumping Boots.
I have 2 pairs already.
I don’t know how I feel about them. Not being able to pull out a shotgun is a big deal in a firefight, but I find myself rocket jumping a lot more. I didn’t like to rocket jump previously because of how much damage I took, but now that I can just jump out of any situation, it’s pretty nice.
Also, I love using the direct hit on pyros, they’re so used to the slow rockets a lot of them can’t airblast in time to reflect the rocket.
Are the gunboats just random?
So apparently, according to the blog, they’re beta-ing bots now. Which is cool. Wait…
SERIOUSLY VALVE? You’re only just now thinking: O hey giez, wut abt botz?
You didn’t think that there might be some people out there who might want to practice off-line against something that fights back? Goddamn you.[/rant]
Also, I’m in two minds about bots, as I know a server in BF2 that’s all bots, is used by the clan that runs it, and very rarely gets many players. Gimme Uberium and Fragmasters TF2 any day. Fun fun fun!
TFC Foxbots, nuff said.
Or RCBot
