If anyone would happen to know where I might obtain scans/summery of the article in the new OXM mag I would be very grateful.
Edit: Nvm, found it myself https://forums.bethsoft.com/index.php?/topic/1172376-info-from-the-new-us-oxm/
You are awesome.
Pretty good read. Also, do i smell a daggerfall remake in the (distant) future?
I full remake I think not (That would be a lot of stuff), revisiting is possible though.
Also I have 76 posts in this thread :3
Need something to keep yourself occupied until Skyrim? Try Brorrowind, a graphics/gameplay update mod that makes Morrowind look and perform BETTER than Oblivion. Depth of field, anti-aliasing, dynamic LOD, updated textures, HDR and bloom, improved shaders, dynamic water, environmental audio, among other things.
But the best part about it : iT WORKS! (playing now, and LOViNG iT!)
EDiT : Plus, it’s better than Morrowind2011 in my opinion.

Plus, it runs worse than Crysis.
Of course, you can tweak the settings, but still…
I like it except the giant mushroom. They look pretty bad.
The more info I read about Skyrim, the better it seems to be. It seems Bethesda decided to really go to town on this one and include as much shit as possible to make the game world alive and believable as well as making the gameplay more involved and rewarding than ever.
I really hope the hype is right on this one.
I do recall that there were some pretty big claims made about Oblivion that ended up entirely false (such as the abilities of radiant AI). Even so, It’ll be a glorious game, but I’m not sure how much it will live up to the hype.
Well, i can run Crysis on full DX10 settings with at least 30 to 40 FPS.
The video there doesn’t do the game justice. Most of it is too dark and recorded at night. During the day around Vivec, it looks AWESOME. The Vivec Textures are really cool and compliment the other mods i’m using nicely like the added outside marketplaces, docks, water works and slums. Everything about the game is grittier and greener and i like that. Balmora looks better with the expansion mods i’m using and all the added clothes, weapons and items, the game’s just…bigger. i have YET to see any two NPCs that look alike, any three with the same armor combination or any duplicate face and hair. Each and every NPC is unique, unlike the vanilla game.
And the added depth perception and motion blur. Finally, focus done right! it works the way i’d want it too and it doesn’t give me a headache. instead of blurring EVERYTHiNG a certain distance away, the camera is set to blur realistically what should be out of focus. Plus the added vegetation and greener scenery and trees make the added LOD almost useless as i rarely get to SEE distant land. (LOL) But the view from the Vivec Cantons or from any tall structure is pretty impressive.

I like how it’s called Brorrowind.
Something i’m kinda worried about with Skyrim is apparel options. in Morrowind, there’s literally a flood of clothing ‘slots’ to fill; feet, calves, legs, waist, tail, chest, torso, left shoulder, right shoulder, left wrist, right wrist, left hand, right hand, neck, face, head and ring slots. You can equip clothes UNDER your armor and you can mix and match armor types. Your character’s arms alone have 6 slots!
Oblivion abbreviated it down to: feet, legs, chest, tail, head, arms, head and two ring slots. i could be wrong, there could be more. Along with other abbreviations (like skills), i’m worried that Bethesda may continue with their jumpsuit style costumes and armors with very limited apparel slots. Just look at Fallout3. There’s, what? Two slots? Helmet and…everything else? With graphics getting better and more realistic, it’s getting harder and harder to model and animate clothing pieces to work together. To avoid clipping conflicts, Bethesda took several shortcuts by bonding articles together into complete outfits.
i thought about this when i finished decorating my character in Morrowind…with his 15+ apparel slots. The combinations are seemingly endless and i like that. i really hope Bethesda doesn’t take too many shortcuts and limit our options again. Bethesda seems to be trimming down options and i hope that apparel choices isn’t one of them.

They have confirmed multiple slots for armor, it isn’t going in the vein of Fallout. Fallout 3 was done like that because that’s how Fallout has always been.
Something about the Elder Scolls series always put me off. Since Morrowind I’d always start the games and never finish them…
I just couldn’t get engaged…
This, however, looks like I could get hooked. I’m looking forward to it.
Well it’s so easy to get sidetracked in those games, almost as easy as getting sidetracked in GTA
You wouldn’t happen to know if they have multiple pauldron slots for left and right pauldrons? I would love to be able to mix and match armor sets, though I doubt it would be that many.
I would not happen to know that. The main reason for the removal of pauldrons and separate gauntlets in oblivion was enchanting abuse. So if they found another way to fix that I don’t see why they wouldn’t bring them back.
Debatably easier. GTA at least reminds you of the existence of a main quest on the minimap.
