TES V announced at last - it's Skyrim!

Lucky. Each time it’s happened for me, I was pretty far away. I want to witness a crash landing up close. That, and actually getting a cinematic kill (whatever they’re called) off of a dragon. :rage:

Anyway, I recently constructed Legendary Daedric Armor and am running wild on EVERYONE!!!

don’t all of the dragon shrine dragons crash land? I thought that was scripted, I seem to recall many, if not all of the shrine dragons I’ve fought crash landing somewhat cinematicly after you get their health pretty low.

I’ve only had one out of like 30 dragons crash land before. It flew up into the air and its animation stopped. It was like a flying statue circling above for a few seconds then crashed right on my face. lol. If it hadn’t bugged out before it crashed, it would have been awesome.

Still pretty awesome.

Oh and I found that song I was looking for. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4z9TdDCWN7g

Yeah…basically every dragon of mine crash lands and slides about 50 feet once it hits the ground, it doesn’t happen every time?

I’ve had two do it, I’ve never had one do it properly.

One flew into the side of the mountain I was on and a Giant dirt strip appeared, without the dragon.

The second one hovered fiffty feet in the air as a giant strip of dirt appeared, and then he teleported to earth.

Sounds like the dragon crash animations were canned. Or they were using some kind of ragdoll magnet like code to get the dragons to crash towards a certain point, but true to form it’s glitchy as hell.

I’ve had one dragon crash land, it went flawlessly and looked bad ass. A few kill cams with dragons but not a whole lot.

Random Oblivion question in the Skyrim thread: if I install a UI mod and a couple texture mods in the middle of my current game, do you think it’ll fuck with my savegame at all? I’m starting to get really sick of the vanilla UI. [color=black]Although if it does fuck it, at least I’ll get to start over and not be a fucking BARD

Nope it shouldn’t but back up your save anyway.

Nope, atleast it never bothered my game.

I always keep like 80,000,000,000 saves though.

Why? did somone steal your sweet roll?

:’(

Experiencing an interesting bug.

if i move quickly from one part of the map to another either running or sprinting, my game crashes; i assume because the game can’t load the world quick enough. if i left Whiterun and sprinted straight toward Riften at full speed, i might get to Valtheim Towers before the game crashes. Lucky for me, though, if i take things slow and walk, everything runs fine. This is -so far- the only way i can stop the game from crashing.

Also, if i ever fast-travel or hitch a ride to anyplace, i have to stand and wait around wherever i get dropped off for a few seconds. if i take off running as soon as i hop off the cart, the game attempts to load a new part of the map and crashes. i’m assuming that the game freaks out if it has to keep loading map cells too quickly.

Same here, usually when fast travelling or other transitions. Usually just before it crashes I’ll get that texture/light map(?) bug with pink/purple people, dragons, trees etc. Then the next transition it’ll crash.

I think it’s a memory problem. I had 4GB when I got the machine, and since upgraded to 8GB and still have the problem, but people have reported no crashes after getting the skyrim exe that utilises more of the PC’s memory, so it’s down to the way it’s coded as opposed to the machine itself. Unfortunately updates overwrite this exe, and as far as I’m aware there isn’t one for the latest update.

Why did they make it for consoles then port it :frowning:

i’m still using the vanilla 2GB version but i’m okay with that. i’m using 32bit XP so it’s not like at matters. My PC only uses 3.5 of the 4GB i have installed anyway. Also, other than that ONE TEENY BUG, my game runs moreorless flawlessly.

Because there aren’t many big cities built in areas like skyrim. The conditions aren’t right for it.

Same here, I haven’t modden mine at all (I only found out about this new exe after the update was out which stopped it working).

However I am using 64-bit Win7 so I’m a bit peeved it doesn’t make full use of that.

And about the cities - I remember reading something about them saying the cities were large, and sprawling etc. Only Whiterun, Solitude and Markarth are decent sizes.

Stupid sexy black reach

but the thing is, if you go for heavy armour you get a perk so that weight doesn’t count.

and if you level up your sneak it doesn’t matter if you wear heavy OR light armour right?

so you might as well just go heavy armour. the daedric armour looks AMAZING. and if you enchant it, it’s awesome. i made dragonscale light armour and enchanted it all 32% bow damage and 32% sneak. I can almost take anything out in 1 hit. Usually its about 3 hits (lunar ebony bow, 20 extra damage at night).

i only just thought about the heavy armour recently.

There is a program that makes it so Skyrim can use all your ram AND stabilizes the game.Download it here

It doesn’t overwrite the exe, it’s a separate launcher that works hand in hand with the exe. You just throw the file on your desktop and launch skyrim that way.
