Probably. There’s nothing wrong with updating what you have, and Skyrim’s iteration of the engine is definitely leaps and bounds ahead of Oblivion, at least rendering wise. Hopefully the next updates they do to it are more centered around optimization and little details to fix things like the shadows or the (very annoying) z-fighting bug that has plagued every gamebryo game and now has currently cropped up for me in 1.5 
Skyrim will get mounted combat in the next patch. Finally a good reason to own a horse, I’ll just hope you can use magic.

The only NPC’s I’ve ever seen use horses are the Nobles and The headless horseman(duh).
Wonders if your followers can fight from horseback too if you have the U.F.O mod?
I haven’t tested the patch yet but I would believe that you can’t use shouts while mounted because Unrelenting force may hit your own horse and send you flying. Will be right back after some tests.
EDIT: Nope, you can’t shout on horse back. Not even use magic. only melee and bow.

So I’ve played Skyrim multiple times on other PCs. The reason I haven’t got it myself is that I’m not sure if my PC can run it. Need some help here, guys!
