Taking the good parts from expansions and using them to a degree in Black Mesa to enh

Ok, so has the development team of BM taken some of the gameplay/story aspects from the expansions to enhance the experience of playing through BM? I think that it would be a good solution to make a better game.
I don’t know wether the expansions are canon or not, but really it doesn’t matter, just use what you think would be awesome. For example the male black ops, or the nuke (which has been confirmed by a valve developer to have actually happened in game btw). Just because in Half Life, the black ops (bo) were seriousely underdeveloped, there was a statement by Mark Laidlaw that said since blackops are not a gearbox creation , but an opportunistic use of existing real-life elements. It would be interesting to glimpse at a hint at what could have happened at black mesa, even in one of the gmans “flash backs”. As always, to enhance the experience.

They are remaking Half-Life 1 the way it is.

No, expansions are not canon apart from the nuke. Everything else is made up by gearbox. What would be the purpose of including male black ops anyway? They’re like regular hecu with different uniforms. There’s no game play value and they are not expanding the story so adding them would be a waste of time. If you want expansions stuff, visit operation black mesa forums.

The mod will not contain gearbox or beta stuff, read the FAQ and the nuke happened, but didn’t happen in the game so it was trashed long time ago.

Well, you could say that to female scientists.

lol womens doin science, no wonder the resonance cascade happened!

You’d better post your ideas there.

Yes, but female scientists are already created.

And they make sense.
It wouldn’t make sense to have, say, Gordon witness the nuke, because he was on Xen long before it happened in Op4, and it probably canonically happened around the time Shepard witnessed it, even if he himself is non-canon.

Shephard is canon, he is just named random HECU … Gordon met many of them  One could be Tom,Frank,Billy just this one that survived was Adrian

I understand why they wouldn’t show the nuke, it would just be a case in the black car. But maybe just having them do something when you see them and they don’t notice you, to show that they have some sort of purpose being here at black mesa in addition to the army. I was thinking of showing the nuke exploading at the ending during the gmans "flashback’ sequence at the end, just so people have an idea of what hapened at black mesa afterward (which is confirmed to be canon for anyone who cares). Just to give more of a sense of closure.

So you’re saying that wasn’t Barney banging on the door at the beginning of the game?

We won’t have black ops doods, get on with it. And as Raminator said, there’s no place to fit them so as the nuke. And Gman don’t do flashbacks of the future.

The last chapter in half life occurs at around the same time that the chapters in op, so it wouldn’t be in the future, plus gman does do future flashbacks. You should read my previous post, I meant like showing a view of black mesa with a mushroom cloud or something, while gman is giving his final speech.

Did Valve confirm that it was him?

By the time that you encounter the black ops in OP4 gordon is already in/near the lambda complex, the nuke itself is located at the same area as the first black ops in OP4 (it’s the cone shaped thing in the truck). There is no way you would encounter the nuke, no matter how you try to work it in.

Again, I said like showing the effects of the nuke, like a mushroom cloud during the gmans “flash back” sequences, just so player know what happened to the facility after all they went through.

Dully noted.

Now, please everyone, stop arguing about this.

The reason I created this topic was for discussion, we know that it wont be implemented, I am just talking about the ways in which it could. The topic is meant for people who actually want to talk about this, there is no need for argument, nobody wants that.

Stop intuding in this discussion, telling people not to discuss. That is the whole point of this, if you don’t like it, no one is forcing you to even pay attention to it.

Just go away if you have nothing to contribute.
