Taking nice screenshots

This is fairly minor, but it appears that BMS has no impulse commands, specifically impulse 200. I use that command to holster my weapon and take a screenshot, all the online guides outline this method; cl_drawhud 0, impulse 200. Is there a different way to get nice screenshots in BMS?
Thanks, and wonderful job on the game. Loving the little “Easter eggs” in the dialog.
Now I better make like a bread truck, and haul buns.

It does have impulse commands, I know because I used impulse 101 for fun in anomolous materials :3

Woops just machine-gunned a scientist… ha ha

make sure you SV_cheats 1 first

EDIT (03:44 AM): Don’t forget to use “notarget” and “god” - you don’t want to have a Ninja Crab crawling up behind you or a Gargantua that roasts you, accidentally!

There are two ways (the ones I know of, at least):

Note:v-” and “-v” are supposed to be arrows, pointing down.

v- Option A -v

cl_drawhud 0
r_drawviewmodel 0

Type the commands above in the console and hit ENTER.

Use “cl_drawhud 1” and “r_drawviewmodel 1” to enable the HUD and to make your weapon / hands visible again.

If you’re using “-dev” in the Launch Options, be sure to type and use the “developer 0” command in the console (“developer 1” to enable it), as well.

v- Option B -v

  1. Close Black Mesa.
  2. Open Black Mesa.
  3. Do not load any saved game or start a new one.
  4. Type the command “cl_drawhud 0” in the console.
  5. Load a map using the console (“map bm_c?a?”).
  6. Take screenshots!

Option A” seems to be the method with the most practical use, since you can ‘enable’ the weapon(s) again, without having to restart the game.

If you want to increase or decrease the field of view, you can play with these commands, as well:

fov

fov ???

(Default: fov 75)

r_aspectratio

r_aspectratio ???

(Default: r_aspectratio 0)

Note: Anything below 1 stretches the image and anything above 1 squeezes it.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
