SUBTITLES AND WIDESCREEN

I keep changing the options to allow subtitles and 16:9 widescreen but the changes never go into effect. I have similar issues with all the other settings as well :’(

Me too. It won’t let me change to widescreen, or up the resolution.

put -w and -h in your launch options depending on your resolution

I would use

-w 1920 -h 1080

but yours may differ. Hope that helps!

Most of the widescreen resolutions don’t appear until you select 16:10 btw. Most widescreen monitors are 16:10, not 16:9.

I selected 16:10 but it didn’t apply.

I’ll check my specs and adjust them accordingly thanks very much! I’ll let you know if it helps.

Having the same issue. Both with resolution and screen size and subtitles, click apply and nothing happens find any fixes? Can you set a launch option to turn subtitles on as well?

please ensure that the folder placed into “sourcemods” is named “BMS”:
\Steam\steamapps\sourcemodsBMS

This can help resolve issues with game saves, subtitles, chapter names, and possibly any other issues that may be caused by utilizing the wrong folder name.

Let me know if this is the case.

I’ve got the same issue, but I’m running it in Ubuntu 12.04 with winetreaks.
In wine, the folder is all right.

BMS folder looks fine, still problem persists

I had the same problem with widescreen. I changed the aspect ratio to 16:9 but it didnt take effect.

But I found a solution that worked for me. After changing the aspect ratio I clicked the advanced graphics setup open and just clicked ok. After the advanced setup window was closed it allowed me to cahnge the resolution to what I liked and it stayed that way too.

Hope this helps.

It’s not a bug, just some strange glitch. When you select 16:9 don’t click “ok” or “apply”, just select the resolution you want from the box above AFTER you select 16:9.

That works a treat!
Thanks.
