It looks like I’m supposed to jump up some stuff to a vent in the wall. But the six inch vertical leap I’m sporting makes this impossible. Is there a button for higher jump? I can’t even jump up on a barrel on its side.

its weird you have to jump then quick hold the crouch button
Duck-jumping is absolutely crucial to many jumping puzzles (and for clearing some of the trip mine lazors). You jump and then immediately hold crouch to make Gordon pull his legs up under him, to get some extra air.
