This is a bug with save games, not with STU. It’s something getting messed up in the ragdoll code when you load a save. It actually generates a console error too.

One of our programmers tried like…3 fixes for that in this last update. Every time we thought we nailed it (the issue went away) only for it to then mysteriously reappear at a later date. We’re quite stumped by it. We’ll keep cracking at it, though.

Actually, come to think of it, I’ve been getting this bug since before CU3 as well. The weird thing is, I only ever noticed it happening on the custom OaR maps I was working on, so I assumed it was a problem on my end.

More severely, though, there were also issues with the I/O system upon saving and loading, IIRC. The one thing I do remember happening besides ragdolls, is that when trying to explode a pile of flammable crates in one level, the game would crash immediately. This only happened after saving and loading. The only special thing I can think of about these crates is that they were scaled up, to… 1.5 the default size, I think?

EDIT: It’s still happening as of CU3. Would it help if I posted the map (.bsp or .vmf, along with the materials it uses) for analysis?

i have had this happen since the beggining of BMS on steam and almost always on a the first section of balstpit with the first bullsquid+elevator and rarly anywhere else execpt surface tension
