@aze: When you told gays to “go home and not do it on the street…” What the hell, man? Trying to write it off as protecting the kids is kinda flimsy. Seeing two gay people kiss on the street isn’t gonna make a five year old gay, it isn’t gonna make a teenager straight kid gay, and it isn’t gonna make a teenager gay kid gayer. Seeing two straight people kiss on the street isn’t gonna make a gay kid straight either.
And generally, if you hear gay people talking about gifts, its usually not that they’re gay, but that they FOUND somebody else whose gay. They tend to think of their partner as a gift. And I’m pretty sure clubbing somebody to death with a rock is probably a BAD thing. Plenty of people (pro and anti GLBT) would hate you as much as you hate “fags”. That word also implies that you only have a problem with homosexual men, which is even less of an argument in line with this topic…
As to “defending them so badly”, it’s not like they’d need people on all sides to defend them if there weren’t so many people with your attitude. How would you feel if this topic was turned around, and you were in the minority, consistently reminded that you and your entire essence was wrong.
Just think. You’re entitled to your own view, but don’t let it make you wanna kill people.

Here’s my response to those that think that homosexuality is a choice (something to “work on” getting rid of):
“Choose to be gay. Right here. Right now. Go up to that member of your same sex, ask them out with the intention of striking up a romantic relationship. Prove to me that sexual orientation is a choice by making that choice. Don’t worry, you can always go back to being straight later, right?”
I like this thread because it shows me who to love more and who to hate.
I’ll just tuck Aze, Shadi and Rasty in my “hate” folder, Rossman in my “ignorant fag” folder and all the rest of you in my “wub” folder. Well, I would if I had folders.
I don’t really hate any of them, myself. I find their actions and opinions morally reprehensible and thoroughly and totally disgusting, but I don’t hate them.
I pity them.
Since they have no reason to be so bigotted I see no reason to pity them.
Bigotry needs no reason. In fact, bigotry is, by definition, unreasonable. Bigotry cannot be fought by hate, though.
I love the movie 12 Angry Men for that exact reason. It shows how to battle bigotry, hatred, and prejudice WITHOUT bigotry, hatred, or prejudice.
Oh, I know it can’t be fought by hate. I wouldn’t try to sway their position by structuring any arguments based on my feelings.

I’m sorry? They’re not allowed to be of the opinion that they don’t like gay people? You hate them because they don’t agree with you and you’re trying to force your opinion on them? Wow, I wonder who that reminds me of.
I hate them because of their unreasonable disgust and aggression towards gay people. It’s got nothing to do with whether they agree with me or not.
By your logic I shouldn’t hate wife-beaters either. If they think their wife is worthless and should be punished, far be it for me to criticise them.
Also, I don’t see how I was trying to force my opinion on them since I haven’t actually spoken to them in this thread.
As Tom Lehrer once said “There are some people in this world that do not love their fellow man and I hate people like that!” I realise it’s somewhat hypocritical, but I don’t really care: if they’re going to hate others for no reason, they don’t deserve my respect or compassion.
I also hate them because they said they’re “diseased”, “disgusting” and “wrong” and want to “rock them to death”. Saying that they’d like me to be raped was just the icing on the rape, as it were.
I wonder how they would feel if, say, we talked about their own personal religion that way.
After all, religion is a choice… 
Here’s something that I’ve thought for a long time. I’ve been keeping it to myself because it’s kind of a nasty thing to say, and I’m trying my best to actually stay in the spirit of friendly debate, but:
If homosexuality is a choice, why would anyone choose to be gay in a world that has people like Shadi, Aze, et al in it? Do you seriously believe that they would choose to suffer endless hatred and discrimination at your hands if they had available the option to love a wonderful person of the opposite sex and live undisturbed?
Oh look, someone sent a death threat over the internet on a gaming forum, hide the children! Seriously, the only two people who showing any sort of aggression were rasty and Aze, both of whom are probably 12 and who’s opinions shouldn’t be taken seriously.
As for me, I see homosexuality as just another fetish and find it disgusting in the way someone might find bestiality or coprophilia disgusting. So are you going to hate me for that then? Put me in your “hate” folder? :rolleyes:
