Steam Expands Beyond Games

With Windows 8 being what it is, I wonder if Steam is expanding beyond being a program to being it’s own OS.

I don’t think Valve would do that. Because then they’d probably be doing exactly what they don’t like, making a closed platform. If shit really hits the fan with windows they’ll probably try to move everything towards linux.

In the year 2000, Valve releases the new version of Steam, which is now a Linux distro.

If Steam wants to be its own OS i hope they at least get the iPhone app to work decently first! Its a world of buthurt and so so annoying!

On the other hand, the Steam app is working quite well on my piece of shit 1st gen android.

I don’t see the point of a Steam iPhone app. Like, it literally has nothing to offer a mobile platform.

I like to know who is online and I don’t have to VNC from my phone into my desktop to chat with friends so it does add functionality to my phone.

how I would love to fight soldiers instead of robots in HL … :frowning:

its comming https://steamcommunity.com/greenlight

Steam Greenlight is slated to launch at the end of August

how bout uploading the mod there in the next week?

Valve Anti Virus. Get your free-to-play copy now and receive a genuine TF2 hat. If someone kills you when you wear that hat, viruses are sent to blow up that person’s computer. The only way to save your computer is to have the Valve’s Anti Virus, which releases Steam of death.

Wow, that gave me a great idea. Valve should release a new gun in TF2 which increases the target’s ping by 10 each consecutive hit.

greenlight is released time to release the mod !

Steam Greenlight is for indie games, not mods. A lot of people misunderstood that.

They should make a category for mods…

i dont think thats correct sir…look it up i already seen source games/mods like no more room in hell …

There is a difference between using Source for a non-commercial mod that uses Valves IP and a commercial game that uses a licensed version of Source and its own IP.

Neotokyo is up too or Nightmare House 2

Sure but who’s to say they’re eligible for Greenlight? Valve really should make that point more obvious. I could just make a submission for Black Mesa right now if I wanted. There’s no control over that.
