Speedtest!

Fake e-peen. I’m guessing that that’s the bandwidth of your entire school or something.

^ has no idea about bits vs bytes

Ummm, let me try…

Why the hell does everyone in other countries have better internet than me :frowning: ?

No, it’s not. I live at the school campus. It’s currently being upgraded from 100 Mbps to 1 Gbps in all apartments.

God damn. What do students need that bitchin’ internet for? It’s like they’re begging you not to do your homework and torrent+watch a terabyte of porn instead.

Is there faster network cards than 10/100/1000??? If not, having a faster connection that 100mb becomes pointless, no? If i´m wrong, and you can receive that much on a single computer, isn´t the average write speed of a normal hdd below this? even on SSDs?

Really don’t like Comcast and there caps, but it could be worse.

Verizon in my area is 3.5 mb/s down, and that’s just unacceptable for a family of 5.

Its really not. At all. Unless everyone is downloading their porn at the same time.

i have fiber net at my mom’s, i’m at dads house now

Uni is great.

Don’t forget there is a big difference between a byte and a bit. 1 MB = 8 Mb. But yes, the maximum download speed is about the same as the write speed of a normal HDD. My SSDs, with a write speed of 150 MB/s, have no problem with this.

:frowning:

The interwebz speed in Argentina is bad… And average middle class family/person won’t get more than 7 Mb/s :fffuuu:. But f***, at least the ping is pretty good…

BTW, the guys at college campuses with insane internet speed could make a lot of money hosting game dedicated servers, if that’s legitimate/legal…

Telecentro sucks

Using school bandwith for personal profit and hosting? Nope. Most have bandwith caps anyway. :frowning:

Good idea? Yes.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
